idk how “the world wasn’t built for us” turned into an example of shitty autism discourse when ever since I got my wheelchair I’m taking -1hp every fifteen minutes as I encounter another obstacle that could have been easily avoided with better architecture, interior design, urban planning, or management logistics

the social model of disability was invented by wheelchair users

this post is absolutely 100% not saying "autistic people appropriated the social model" this is about how people dismiss the social model as only applying to the lowest of low support needs autistic people and mocking the idea that "the world isn't built for us" counts as a real disability, when like. the world isn't built for disabled people. that's just true.

I wish depression were an emergency. I wish someone could take one look at how sick I am and go “oh my god, we need to get you to a hospital!” and then when we get there I get rushed into surgery and the surgeons say “it’s a good thing you brought her here when you did, this is a seriously advanced case” and then they put me under and spend the next ten hours pulling metres of long, sticky black strands of gunk out of my body, throwing it immediately into an incinerator so that it can’t infect anyone else. And then they could stitch me back up and I could rest a few days, and when I leave the hospital everyone can see how much better I am and they congratulate me saying “well done, you’ve been so brave, I’m so glad you’re ok. I love you.”

It really is dissapointing how many women these days hear "it's okay to be critical of men as a class and the ways in which society prioritizes them" and go "okay so that means I dont have treat any men including and especially marginalized ones and children like human beings" like bestie. Where the fuck did we lose you.

If you legit say something like "I don't care about little boys becoming indoctrinated into misogynist beliefs I only care about the little girls who have to listen to the things they say" then you are not serious about ending systemic misogyny.
