You know, there is something kinda cool here when you put these images side by side. The mando who saved him as a kid reached out his hand as if expecting Din to grab it himself, and didn't go to reach forward to him. Its as if he was trying to prove if the kid was worthy of being brave by fending for himself. Meanwhile, Bo Katan is reaching far forward and telling him directly "grab my hand" and wasn't testing him like the first guy seemed to do. I think this adds to what you said, about finding new family who doesn't shame you or use you in order to uphold old traditions.
