"You know what they all miss about Catherine? Her great sense of humor. She's a very funny lady. She's a lot of laughs. First-rate comedienne, but they always ask her heavy questions…so that's all you ever read about Catherine."

To appeal to the American market, French car manufacturer Renault created the Caravelle “S” (or “The Floride,” as it was called in Europe), a convertible that was to represent a simple elegance, sophistication and fun. Bardot surfaced as the ideal spokesperson for the car, embodying all the qualities the manufacturer ascribed to the vehicle. In this photo, the actor is parked at her villa in St. Tropez, playing with her dachshund while sitting on the trunk of her Caravelle “S.” Thanks in part to Bardot, the car was a success in the US.
