This a bill currently in the Senate that would require government ID or face age-verification to access any part of the internet containing "pornographic materials". While it does try its best to maintain the privacy of Canadian citizens, the proposed purpose of the bill is nothing but lies.

It has come to my attention that there is now a proposed Bill, S-209, making its way through the House of Commons that would severely impact the freedoms of Canadians on the internet. I ask that you oppose Bill S-209 on the following grounds.
This Bill has no valid basis, its purposes "protect the mental health of young persons by restricting their access to pornographic material" and "protect Canadians — in particular, young persons and women — from the harmful effects of the exposure of young persons to pornographic material, including demeaning material and material depicting sexual violence" are either not true dangers or not caused by pornography.
Pornography addiction is not a recognised mental health disorder by any reputable psychiatric organisation.
The proposed dangers of the current state of online pornographic material are more clearly explained in the preamble as "development of pornography addiction [in young persons], the reinforcement of gender stereotypes and the development of attitudes favourable to harassment and violence [in young persons]".
These are either not true dangers, or are not caused by pornography for the following reasons;
Gender stereotypes are developed by what children see most often. This will be what they see at school, home, and on television or other forms of media targeted at children, not from incidental exposure to pornographic materials.
The development of attitudes favourable to harassment and violence in young persons comes from the same place as their stereotypes about gender, what they see at school, home, and on television or other forms of media targeted at children.
Of the real concerns Bill S-209 proposes to address, pornography is not the cause. I would be more concerned about the subpar enforcement of hate speech policies on Youtube and similar platforms enabling the spread of misogyny.
I once again ask that you oppose Bill S-209 once it enters the House of Commons. It is a bill whose purpose is built on lies.

I am writing to you with concerns about the validity of Bill S-209, known by the short title Protecting Young Persons from Exposure to Pornography Act. I am not certain this bill is based in fact, and could place undo burden on the governments responsibilities in monitoring the internet as well as unfair regulations on honest companies.
Bill S-209 aims to address two main issues, from my understanding, those issues being;
The development of pornography addiction in youths.
The development of sexist and misogynistic attitudes in youths from exposure to these attitudes in pornography.
Firstly, I do not currently have reason to believe that pornography addiction is a genuine problem affecting Canada's youths. I know of no reputable medical organisation that says pornography addiction is a true addiction, or that exposure to pornography harms the development of youths.
Secondly, I do not have reason to believe exposure to pornography significantly affects youths views towards women. I do not know of any study that demonstartes causation between youth exposure to pornography and sexist attitudes.
If you cannot provide proof supported by a third party, such as a medical organisation, that pornography is either a harmful addiction or a cause of sexist views in youths to myself and the House of Commons, then I would ask that you accept that this Bill has no basis in reality and vote against it.

drinking water is really good for you and helps you feel better but I cantt fucking figure out where does the water go when you drink it. it just leaves
huge biology nerd here: it actually goes into your stomach and then passes quickly through there to your small intestine where then the bloodstream absorbs it and eventually uses most of it and the extra gets pushed towards the kidneys and filtered through the macula densa cells and eventually you’re peeing it out.
so essentially the extra water actually goes into the bloodstream which gets put into the kidneys and the rest gets used up by your cells and muscles and organs and whatever else your body uses it for!
