Darren: I've been with him a long time now, it [Jannik's match against Spizzirri] was up there as one of the great 3 or 4 performances that I've seen from Jannik, the way he managed himself, because he still came back on the court when they did close the roof and he was still full body cramping, and for him to get through that the way he did, we are incredibily proud of him, and I thought he did a wonderful job to manage his way through that.

but also let’s not forget that jannik has played incredible tennis for months and achieved things this year literally never before seen in the history of the sport. i’m damn proud of how hard he fought today until the bitter end and i believe, always, that he’ll be back stronger
