Moreover, aside from being busy on pitching activity, this week, we also attended a symposium about intellectual property rights held in our school. The content of the said gathering was to teach the students on different ways on how to protect our exclusive rights on our own plans, ideas, or other intangible assets without worrying our competition, at least for a specific period of time. These rights maybe through copyrights, patents, trademarks, and more. So much for that, we have learned a lot of things on the said activity and hopefully, we could apply them in the near future.

Upon making the pitch deck, we have realized that when making one, you should have all the information needed and of course, you should study every detail of them. We find it hard on the part when we are to present the estimated amount needed for the project to make possible. It is maybe because we haven’t find the right or suitable machine that will help us in producing our product. According to our research, there isn’t an existing machine available in the Philippines who can produce a product the same thing as what we are studying on. Technically, the machine is our main problem for this study. My sixth blog might just end here for we still have to get ready for our pitching next week. See yah!

  Aside from our presentation, this week we were informed that our midterm exam will be about on pitching and in fact, one person or two from our group should present on how it is done. We were thinking that the most suitable person to do that was Lemuel. He was hesitant at first, but when we promised to help him along the way (of course we were group mates :) ) he later on agreed. By the way, this certain pitching that we will be doing is a short form pitch, in which it only takes 3- 10 minutes long pitch. So, I guess my fifth blog will just end here. See you on my next blog!

In addition, being a Civil Engineering student, we are not just train to build buildings in the near future, but rather, we are mold to build the future itself! I know it sounds absurd and impossible, but trust me, we can and we will! And I hope that by just this “simple little deeds” of us can create a big impact to the future that we will be building.

We actually already have some data on the bridge, gathered from the DPWH, but unfortunately, it is still not yet complete. In addition, our group have decided to visit Mambayaan bridge this coming Christmas break to have some interviews of the people out there, regarding the said bridge, and to investigate if the problem about the bridge still remained as their problem up until now, because if not, maybe we can point out some other problems that the place had been suffering. And yes, we are open to some other possibilities that we can encounter in our journey in this study. 

The above title says it all. This week’s activity was full of extracting our minds, so we can think of an idea which can be use as our topic to study. Since it’s the first thing that should be done, before we attack or start our battle (lol) with this subject. With my groupmates, we held two meetings to talk about it. For the first meeting, we were able to distinguish if what kind of field will we focus on. We have decided that it would be a lot easier and convenient if it would be on things that concern on our course, which is Civil Engineering. So, its on Civil Engineering then. For the second meeting, we listed ideas and sorted it out according to its relevance. Ideas which I can’t share right now since its still blurry, the reason why are we planning to meet again and talk about it. Our instructor says that we can use and develop or enhance past thesis projects in our department, maybe we will consider it. So, I’ll just end it here, and hopefully on my third blog, I can announce the final topic that we’ll rock on .

Hooray! Say hello to second semester! Wow, I really can’t believe it! Time really did fly so fast. It seems like it’s just yesterday when I got myself enrolled in this University, but look at me now, I’m already on my second semester being a fourth-year student. Being in a higher year comes with bigger responsibilities and of course, a busier life. Projects need to get pass on time, assignments, quizzes, exams, and all other school requirements that need full efforts in preparation (I’m sure you too can relate) make our college life frustrating, right? But of course, hard work pays off, so we must learn to deal with it. So far, on my second semester, there is this certain subject which requires no written exams and quizzes (a reason to celebrate). This subject somehow got me interested since as what I have known, it will help the student to transform, or if not, develop the community we live in. This subject is no other than - “Technopreneurship”. In this class, we are task to group ourselves into four, and are ask to find or create our own project .So, for our first week, we held a group meeting to discuss about it, and so, we have come out a Plan A and Plan B. Plan A mainly talks about creating an application, in which in this application, we will serve as a provider of workers to whatever works you want to get done. Like for example, there were leaks in the pipelines in your kitchen, and so you needed someone who will take charge on it. With this application, all you have to do is to log on, and choose the potential plumber who will deal with your leaked pipes, and in no time, they will be in your doorsteps. For Plan B, its like we will design a certain building, or any other infrastructure and we will market to a potential buyer. But this Plan A and B are just tentative. Changes may happen depending on what we will agree on our next meeting. By that time, I am hoping that we can finally have our final decision and project to make.
