The “Eat Out” Food Festival is the largest street food festival in La Paz. It is an opportunity to celebrate the range of delicious street food that La Paz has to offer, as well as try new fusion foods.Â
The Festival supports a gastronomic movement offering unique and unforgettable textures, flavours, art and music. June 02, 2017
In May, the Tourism Development Agency for La Paz hosted a Cooking Show in the Killi Killi lookout. With a beautiful view of the city as a backdrop, chefs from restaurants Ali Pacha, Humo and Magick cooked courses in front of a live audience which was finished off with a dessert of wonderful pastries by the 3600 Bakery. The event was an opportunity to present ”Bolivia on a plate”, chefs used products such as cooked and fermented yucca from the Amazon, with a touch of mature cheese, accompanied by almond milk from Chuquisaca, to a sauce of capers, sealed mushroom and a bit of crispy amaranth from the Bolivian highlands. The pairing was with Brut, the new sparkling wine of Altosama, with aroma of nuts, notes of tropical fruit and white flowers. All ingredients achieved a perfect balance. This new initiative promotes the ”Slow Food” movement in Bolivia.Â
Additionally there was a small market set up showcasing the Sendero Que Te Llama, a group of 9 local artisan shops dedicated to 100% Bolivian handicrafts.Â
Set 02. A little day trip outside the city to Huayna PotosĂ and Zongo while working for CECI in Bolivia.
The Huayna PotosĂ mountain is located at 25 km from La Paz, it is one of the favorite destinations for mountain climbers, due to its ascension characteristics and snow covered peaks.
The most popular route for its ascent begins at the Zongo lagoon, although there are alternative routes with different types of difficulty.
The valley of Zongo is located to the northeast of the city. It has varied climates and different ecological floors with a range of altitudes that range from 6.088 to 150 meters above sea level.
Nature watching, mountain biking, fishing, rafting and trekking are some of the activities that you can do in this valley.
