I was recently reminded of my TOH Amethyst Guard AU so I thought I'd compile all of the drawing I have of it so far! 💜 You can view all of the original posts with a bit of lore here

In Inuit mythology, the Qallupilluit (a.k.a. Qalupalik) are creatures that live along Arctic shorelines near ice floes. They are said to steal children that wander too close to the water. This myth is believed to serve the purpose of protecting children from a dangerous environment, keeping them from wandering too close to the ice. While some interpretations include the pronoun 'he', the Qallupilluit is predominantly described in a feminine manner. It is said that the Qallupilluik uses the abducted children to maintain her long, flowing hair. inspired by this piece

The Sea Goat, also known as the goat fish, stands as one of mythology's most distinctive hybrid creatures, characterized by its remarkable dual nature possessing the upper body of a goat and a lower body of a fish. Some Greek legends speak of the wilderness God Pan who, in his attempt to escape from the monstrosity Typhon, jumped into a river to transform into a fish, but only transformed his bottom half. After Zeus defeats Typhon, Pan helps him mend his wounds. Other legends claim that the Goat of legend is Amalthea, the goat that raised Zeus. In both of these legends, it is said that Zeus raises them amongst the stars as thanks, creating the constellation Capricorn.

Bearing the likeness of a human monk in his habit, the Sea Monk is a fearsome creature that lures unsuspecting people into the water, upon which it drowns them and takes them into the depths to feed on them. There are many rumors of this creature existing in the British Sea, with many claiming that the Sea Monk is a type of squid, and that this creature is no more than a mere legend...

These gentle creatures closely associated with the Fae, are meek and benevolent in nature. Their human form is said to appear alluring to humans. Sailors often trap the Selkie by taking away their skin, making them unable to return to the sea.
