some technique testing for a picture book project about alien flora splicing. I'm figuring out how to make text look like it's been printed and scanned a million times... without actually printing and scanning it once!

the process for this spread was a little experimental. You see that line art? it's the pen sketches I made in the museum, but scanned, warped, and frankensteined together to fit the new perspective!

sequel to these two pieces. this is set in a hard-to-climb-out-of section of the creek in my hometown

sequel to this piece. That cell tower they're hanging out on is based off one in my hometown!

the place in this drawing is based on a culvert and stream in the woods near my home.

there's a small mostly-dry tributary stream near me, and smack dab in the middle of it is a culvert. if you go through the culvert, it's either dry, or there's a stagnant pool of water there. I've seen snapping turtles and cottonmouths in the area before!
