summary:Â Â
In a moment of fear after her encounter in the spirit world, Kyoshi runs away to a place she knows she won't be found: the Eastern Sea, just near the South Pole. As the newest member of the Fifth Nation, Kyoshi plans to keep her past behind her. Yet while Kyoshi grapples with the deaths of her loved ones, her newfound powers, and the threat of Jianzhu lurking behind her, Rangi is tasked with returning the Avatar to Yokoya. But when Rangi finds Kyoshi, she hesitates to bring her to Jianzhu and her mother. As the girls spend more time together and the fleet of pirates, they discover more about themselves and each other.

Rangiâs lip tilts up into a smirk, âCongratulations, Kyoshi. You were a lot harder to find than I expected.â
Kyoshi struggles to find her words. âWhat are you doing here Rangi?â Itâs her. Sheâs actually here.
From the way her lips are pressed together and how her brows are furrowed, Kyoshi can assume Rangi didnât run off to join her. Sheâd expected Jianzhu to send someone after her, but the arrival of her closest friend leaves her unable to think straight.
The firebender ignores her question, instead crossing her arms. âWhyâd you leave?â
âI had no choice. And I certainly didnât want to get you involved.â
âWell, I donât ignore my responsibilities, so when my mother and Jianzhu requested that I pick you up, I said yes. Did you ever consider the consequences of what youâve done? How we would feel about it?â Rangi points a finger into her own chest with the last question, and Kyoshi feels guilty at the frustration behind her words and the dark circles underneath her eyes.
Before she can respond, Kyoshi hears footsteps, and her stomach sinks. It seems that misfortune has a habit of finding her.
Kyoshi Book 3: Air (Written for the 2022 Kyoshi Big Bang!)
Kyoshi continues her training at the Southern Air Temple, accompanied by Rangi and Jinpa. Not only the next step in her Avatar journey, the Air Nation brings with it memories of her family, and expectations she fears she will be unable to meet.

I had a lot of fun worldbuilding and adding elements from my own culture, and it was therapeutic to write Yunâs mental health journey. thereâs something so important about a black girl playing annabeth chase in particular- sheâs a character known for her bossiness and excessive pride, but also her wit and spirit and loyalty. and sheâs unconditionally loved by percy and their friends, no matter what. the pjo tv show will show black girls that they are worth being loved for all parts of their personality and history, even the ones that arenât deemed perfect by society.
Saying goodbye to everyone re-opens Kataraâs old wounds of loss and abandonment.
Story Summary:Â
After the war, Katara struggles to breathe.
Sheâs always known who she is and what her duty was - now she hasnât got a clue. She didnât realize that learning to live, after just surviving for so long, would be this hard.

The way burdge drew Percy and Annabethâs body language is I think a huge reason why we go absolutely feral over her art. Like the way she just expresses such visceral intimacy through subtleties of how they lean into each other, touch each other, etc is just...unmatched

ive been trying to get all my school work done before winter break so i havenât had a lot of time for art, but hereâs a katara that i managed to draw in what time i did get. idk why but drawing katara is always such a comfort to me⌠i always fall back to drawing her when i donât feel like thinking about what iâm drawing so much.
