i deserve to be woken up with hands on my tits in the middle of the night every night i think
I think ao3 is literally the only site where no censorship means no censorship. you can post the most vile things on there — things that will get taken down on any other platforms — and ao3 will protect you, your works, and your rights to create whatever you want, however you want.
and no, this isn’t me saying “write that messed up, disgusting thing” because while, yes, write it if it’s what you want (I myself enjoy writing dark fics, something I believe would be considered “vile” to a lot of people), this is me saying in a world of censorship and capitalism, ao3 really is a treasure.
everybody say thank you ao3
Do you have an absolute favorite ship, or just one that you're fixated on currently?
I think my absolute favourite ship would probably be Vijinx or Vipow
fanfic writers who type their works directly onto ao3 instead of copy-and-pasting from elsewhere have no fear. fear fears them.

this is beautiful !! 😍
I am DEEPLY surprised that it hasn't been asked yet, but how about Engine and Bloodcurdle?
New Quirk Name: Blood Drive
This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to sprout out little pipes around their body, up to six in total. Whenever the user stabs someone with these pipes, they may begin to pull blood from their body, making the target weak and woozy. The user may then use this stolen blood as fuel, creating a bright red flame from where the pipes originate. This gives the user an exceptional burst in speed, moving like a blur across the battlefield at their highest speeds. The user can control where the pipes come out from, and how much blood they use as fuel. This gives the user a good combat Quirk, draining enemies dry only to then run circles around them. They can weave around enemies attacks, quickly maneuver around the battlefield, greatly weaken their opponents, augment their close quarters abilities, or just drain people like a vampire. Though this require the user to get the target's blood in the first place, especially since they need to get so close to get it, and properly balance their intake and outtake of it. Certain blood types will make for better or worse fuel sources, give the Quirk a certain randomness to it, and the user getting injured can end up causing them to leek their fuel.
Quirk Marriage: muscle augmentation and engine
New Quirk Name: Revved Up
This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to overclock their body, turning their skin red and causing steam to pour out of their body. While like this, the user is notably stronger and faster, able to go toe to toe with those whose Quirks improve their bodies. The use of the Quirk is separated into gears numbering to one to three, with the effects becoming much more powerful with the increasing numbers. This makes the user quite the physical powerhouse, able to go to normal to revved up in less than a second, allowing them to get into and out of a fight or other situations they made be need very quickly. Though the user must be careful with this ability, as the Quirk burns through their reserves of calories and stamina, a drawback that gets worse as the user increases the gears. The drain will also require the user to eat and rest more than most people.
Overclock vs Engine
Overclock: +Greatly speeds up the user's brain functions +Let's the user go so fast that they can’t be seen +User can think, see, and hear at hypersonic speeds +Becomes even faster when the user is in danger -Only works for a dozen or so seconds -Based around the brain. Damage to it will hinder the Quirk
Engine: +Gives the user pipes in their legs to push them around +Can go into various gears for various speeds +Empowers the user's kicks =Only good for horizontal mobility -Focused on the legs -Pipes can be blocked or damaged -Needs juice to fuel and work the engines
To be fair, I will admit that there are notable advantages to both of these Quirks. "Overclock" is faster, but "Engine" can get high speeds over long distances, being more reliable in that regard. It's like comparing a sprinter to a marathon runner. That being said, I think "Overclock" is way better. The most obvious one is in speed, with "Overclock" massively outpacing "Engine". Even if I was being generous and gave it Recipro Burst, that's the only way it would come even close to the base speed of "Overclock". And that only lasts for a few seconds and leaves the user's legs paralyzed afterwards. Which doesn't matter because "Overclock" gets an even greater burst whenever they are in danger. Yes, "Overclock" doesn't have the same stamina as "Engine". But that doesn't matter when you are going as fast as you are with "Overclock". You only need a few seconds to do whatever it is you need to. Then there are the other benefits "Overclock" has. It has a lot more vertical mobility with all the jumping and climbing the user can do, and it gives better variety with the various improved senses the user has. Overall, I would give it to "Overclock". It's better in all the ways that matter and has a lot more going for it.
The trifecta of “this looks sick as fuck, but I’m a little worried about you, sweetie”

The Metapocalypse
So when the series ended, I saw that a handful of fans were confused or disappointed about a certain plot point being resolved. That being the Quirk Doomsday Theory. I saw many fans follow that this idea would be important to the manga somehow. Now, I could easily dismiss this as fans latching onto something when the author never intended it to be that important. However, I still wanted to discuss it. Because I do think that there is something to this concept, but not in the way that everyone seems to think it is.
The Quirk Singularity, or the Quirk Doomsday Theory, is the idea that Quirks become stronger with each generation as they begin to intermingle with one another. And, when these Quirks grow too strong, more complicated, and dangerous to handle. The Quirks as a whole would grow to the point where people and society at large would not be able to handle them. Now, there isn't any denying that something like this is happening. There are a lot of examples of Quirks getting strong as time passes. There are the kids that Bakugou and Shoto work with, there's evidence from Destro's book about kids beating their parents during mock battles, and the absurd heights of the kids of Class 1-A. So it's clear that the manga is pushing the idea that Quirks are getting stronger.
However, the "doomsday" part of the theory is a lot more questionable. Of the Quirks we've seen, there haven't been any major examples of Quirks being too dangerous from the previous generations. Just look at all the pro heroes and the students. They all have their own downsides, but none of them are so strong as to be an active, uncontrollable threat to themselves and anyone around them like the theory is suggesting. What examples we do have are questionable. Tomura and Aoyama were originally the prime examples of this. However, it was eventually revealed that Tomura and Aoyama were given their Quirks. It's an unnatural process, one that their bodies were designed for. They hardly seem like the most fitting examples now.
I would argue the best examples are Dabi and Eri. Yes, their Quirks are dangerous, both to themselves and other people. Yet again, though, Dabi is a result of a very specific combination of powers. Two powers that are active counters to one another and have a very high chance of going wrong. If anything, he could just as easily be used as an example of Quirks potentially getting weaker when they intermingle. Eri is a deviation as well. Her power is so far out of the scope of the setting that I'm not even sure if it counts. Even then, they aren't a threat to the world at large. With the right help, whether it be through training their powers or giving them the right equipment, they could easily live among everyone else. Shoot, you could snap off Eri's horn, and her power becomes harmless.
The only person who really pushes for this idea is Dr. Garaki himself. And yes, Garaki is the number one authority on Quirks in the series. If anyone can have any say on what is happening with Quirks, it's him. However, he's also the guy who made the theory. Of course he's going to see everything as confirmation for his idea, like what's happening with Tomura or the drug made from Eri. All while cackling like a madman about it. He isn't exactly an unbiased source. Especially since a lot of what supported his theory he had some hand in, such as Tomura's bizarre body modifications. There's a reason why people keep calling him crazy, like Present Mic. Because when you really look at the theory and compare it with what we've seen, it doesn't line up.
So, what is the point of all this? Why introduce this theory outside of some neat worldbuilding? I think it has more to do with the themes of the story than being any kind of plot point. The only two people who believe in the idea are All For One and Garaki. Two old, long-lived men who want nothing more than for things to regress and stagnate. That's the whole point of them as villains. The Quirk Doomsday Theory is supposed to show the villain's stance against progress. That it's something to be feared. However, the series runs counter to this. That people shouldn't be afraid of things progressing. That older generations should be working to cultivate and help the next generation grow. It's why when it's first introduced, it's when Bakugou and the gang are doing that exact thing with all the troubled kids.
If Dr. Garaki raised Chisaki instead of the Yakuza, (Assuming AFO didn’t steal his quirk when it improves) and was taught under his wing on how the process of making Nomus. Do you think that this version of Overhaul would be a bigger danger with his deeper understanding of quirks and biology. That even when AFO was captured, making high ends would be barely affected thanks to Overhaul’s quirk?
To preface this, I really doubt it'd be easy. making Nomus is not easy, High Ends especially. They take a lot of time, rescores, and the direct help of All For One to help the process along. So even with Kai, I don't think Garaki's lab would suddenly become an assembly line of monsters. It's not like he can slap in genetic mods.
With that being said, yes, I do think that Kai learning under Dr. Garaki would be an immensely dangerous combination. Between Dr. Garaki's decades of research and Kai's natural inclination towards biology and Quirks, there's a lot the two can do. Having someone as smart as Kai around on its own would be helpful in and of itself, letting Dr. Garaki travel around for his cover without time being wasted not making Nomus. The most straightforward benefit would be Kai combining people together before turning them into Nomu proper to speed things along. The real benefit of "Overhaul" would be expanding what can be done with the Nomus. He could open a whole new spectrum of options by allowing them both to combine the Nomu with non-organic targets. Because Kai can fuse stuff like that together. Imagine a weapon as dangerous as a Nomu filled up with all kinds of technology that the two could get their hands on. Which is nothing to say of Kai developing whole new horrors. Could you imagine what kind of bullets Kai could make with all those samples.
