Some people are just born to light up a room whenever they walked in and Ramsey Rivera was one of those people. Born and raised in Aurora Bay, the warm and inviting beach town was Ramsey’s home and for her it had been ideal. Born and raised in Seabrook Quarter to parents that from the outside seemed so loving and warm. She had parents who loved her and supported her and a twin brother who was her best friend. The pair did everything together and always had one another’s back. The Rivers’s as a whole never lived beyond their means but had inspired their children aspire to bigger and better things for the future. Aurora may have been home for now but the world was always changing.

As Ramsey grew older cracks were starting to form in her perfect family. Her childhood had seemed so perfect but her teen years were marred with turbulence. First was the realization that her parents got divorced due to het own fathers infidelity. Second was her own brothers bad reputation. He was her best friend and the person that kept her together when their parents marriage was going up in flames but as the pair started to form identities separate from one another it was clear the pair were heading in different paths. While Ramsey was a social butterfly with an effortless charm about her, Graham had a harder edge and was getting involved with less savory and often illegal hobbies. He’d begin to get into trouble and she found herself answering the front door with the message that he had been arrested again. Despite, their differences Ramsey still tried to stay close to Graham even though the twins were becoming less and less similar.

She wasn’t an overachiever by any means in school but Ramsey was clever. She had an eye for fashion and most artistic ventures she set her mind too. It was a love that started due to her own mothers love of photography and had built from there. As graduation grew closer she wasn’t sure what she was going to do with her life. When she turned 18 things started to seem less and less promising. She wasn’t getting the offers to schools she had hoped for and instead she started to go all in when it came to her boyfriend. If her professional life wasn’t going to fall into place than maybe she could achieve something with the love of her life and have the perfect family she had once thought her parents had.

However, when Ramsey fell sick for weeks and took a test to confirm her suspicions, her ideas of family were going to come faster than she had anticipated. Despite the shock, Ramsey was excited at the prospect of becoming a mom. Her own mother was her hero so if she could be half as wonderful as her she had a shot at happiness. However, her twin was not as excited as she was. He believed she was throwing her life away on a guy she’d only known a few months and that having a baby would destroy any of the artistic talent she had for fashion and design. Graham was worried she was going to be hurt like their father had hurt them and wanted to protect her from heartbreak. But Ramsey was nothing if not idealistic and was deciding to plan a wedding and ignoring her brothers protests. Unfortunately, not too long after plans were set in motion tragedy struck and Ramsey lost the baby. It was no one’s fault but just something that was a possibility of happening. The situation had left Ramsey despondent and depressed, she began to pull away from her boyfriend and didn’t want Graham to tell her he was right; even though her twin was trying to be helpful. In public though she still remained the same vibrant and fun personality that she always was. Only now she had nothing holding her to Aurora Bay anymore.

Luck was on her side however and something good practically fell in front of her when she needed it the most. Ramsey had been spending a lot of time at the beach by herself to deal with the loss and was scouted by a modeling agency. She had wanted to go into design and had never considered being a model instead. She was told that despite her height the rules of fashion and modeling were changing constantly and she had the right kind of look to make it huge. While, it hadn’t been the lifeline she was hoping for, it was the one she needed and Ramsey jumped at the opportunity to escape from bad memories.

Her agent was right and before she turned 21 Ramsey was walking the runways of Paris fashion week and getting covers on Italian Vogue. From the outside it seemed that the girl who loved the quiet small town life was gone and replaced with someone getting invited to New York’s biggest parties and making more money than she knew what to do with. She was meeting so many people and would go on dates with major players in the entertainment industry. It seemed like her entire life had changed and her heart would never go back to Aurora Bay. And for a long time it didn’t. Ramsey enjoyed a life she never thought possible in New York City and was so caught up with everything she hadn’t realized just how much time had passed. She hadn’t realized how she had started to lose sight of who she really was.

The reality came crashing in the last time she saw Graham. Her twin was visiting in New York and the two were going to so end a few weeks together. The pair stayed close throughout the years, even as Graham got into more trouble and Ramsey grew more busy. This visit however left a sour taste in her mouth and an argument broke out between the pair. He told her she was fake and that he didn’t even know who she was anymore and she called him a criminal and the pair left with unsaid apologies that would never be verbalized. Because not long after their fight Ramsey got a call from her mom that Graham had died and once again Ramsey’s world crumbled.

She couldn’t stand the way her New York life looked anymore and her brothers words echoed in her mind. All she wanted in the world was to have her old life back. It hadn’t been perfect but she thought she was happy. She knew who she was in Aurora Bay. Before the end of the month she moved her entire life back to the West Coast. She told her agent she was taking a break from working because she needed time to find herself again and she needed time to mourn the loss of her brother. Because the pair had been twins it felt like someone had split her in two now and she needed to come to terms with everything. She needed to know he didn’t hate her and that she never once in her life hated him. She couldn’t tell him in person anymore so she had to tell him some other way. Moving home to a place she missed so much was the right first step.

However the move wasn’t without its own set of issues. Ramsey is unsure if the modeling world still would want her when she comes back. She worries she’s not good enough to parlay her fame into a design career like she had initially wanted due to the fact schools had never called her back in high school. She’s scared to run into her ex in Aurora because there was still so much left unsaid between them. Do the people in Aurora Bay think she’s changed too much for them to fit in but she also doesn’t want her New York life to bleed into town. To top it off her own confidence is shaken by everything that had transpired and her mental health and depression have taken root again due to her mourning. At the end of the day Ramsey just wants a normal life again but is that even possible? And how long can she smile regardless of how she’s feeling ?
