Who’s the one to make breakfast: Logan (He makes a kick ass breakfast that Victor just lovesss)

Who’s the one to serve the other breakfast in bed: Victor makes breakfast for Logan when Logan sleeps in.

Who would suggest a quickie in the morning before work: If they’re up at the cabin by themselves, Logan. If they’re back in the city and Logan’s teaching at the Institute, Victor. 

Who suggests they both ditch work to lay around all day: Victor

Who chooses the movies: Logan

Who initiates kissing during the moving, thus distracting the other from the movie all together: Victor

Who orders lunch: Logan

Who steals food from the other’s plate without asking: They both do

Who curls up next to the other and falls asleep due to a full tummy: Victor would use Logan as a pillow and Logan would then use Victor’s head as a book rest as he reads.

Who distracts the other from trying to work at home: Victor

Who asks to go get ice cream like a five year old: Victor

Who takes pictures of their partner eating ice cream: Victor (Logan and Technology? I think not)

Who makes a sexual joke about the dripping ice cream on their partner’s face: Victor

Who cooks dinner: Victor

Who cleans up the kitchen afterwards: They both do

Who stays up until 2 reading: Logan

Who stares at their partner while their sleeping: Victor

I have created a doc sharing descriptions and recommendations for butch4butch books, including romance, literary fiction, historical fiction, manga, graphic novels and sci-fi/fantasy. This list is incomplete, and is still being updated regularly.

With full transparency, some of these books may not be "explicit" in their representation, but I have still included them because to my understanding, they include two butch or masc lesbians in a relationship. I have not, however, included books like Gideon the Ninth, where the author themselves have clarified that they don't see one half of the pairing as butch.

Happy Black History Month!

Probably the most fun I've had reading a book in some time. A love letter to lesbian pulp fiction literature that thrived in the oppressive 1950s, this short story collection revolves around dykes getting into turbulent, toxic, obsessive relationships, finding community, experiencing love and heartbreak, and going on unhinged revenge quests. Very diverse array of narratives with ref. to race, class, setting and gender identity–not just centering the experiences of cis white lesbians. Some of the stories included here are also written in the 1930s–1950s, and provide a rare glimpse into sympathetic historical portrayals of lesbian narratives in marginal/pulp literature.

Logan hated galas. He hated stuffy rooms full of rich arseholes and stupid social conventions and food that wasn't actually designed to make you full. At least he had Morph to keep him company.

The throuple was established pre X2. Scott and Logan are, of course, both mourning. However, they mourn very differently. Logan is no stranger to loss and is able to navigate it while continuing to fulfill his responsibilities. Scott, however, hasn't experienced this sort of thing. Not since his parents. He shuts down and withdraws. Logan tries to pull him out of it. He tries to support him and help him move on but Scott sees Logan go back to teaching, to the daily routine of it all and wrongfully assumes he doesn't see the same Jean shaped hole in their lives. Scott starts hallucinating Jean (or at least thinks that's what he's doing. It's actually Jean's telekinesis but she doesn't know that either because she's so certain she died that day.) and that's when Logan really gets worried. He asks Scott who he's talking to and Scott reluctantly tells him.

"I think it's time you talk to a professional, Slim."

"No! I won't let Charles mess with my head!"

"That's not-"

"I can't lose her again!"

"Look. I get it. I loved her too-"

"Not like I did!"

It's like a knife in Logan's heart and he can't stop the wince.

"Scott..."

"You don't understand! No one understands! None of you had what we had! If this is what it takes to see her again, then so be it!"

"What about the other people that love you? The ones that are still here. What about me?"

"...I..."

"You're killing yourself slowly. How can you expect me to just watch it happen?"

"..."

Scott breaks down. The damn breaks and he dissolves into sobs.

Logan holds him while he cries it out. He let's him just unload it all until he's too tired to keep going. The sobbing is done but the tears keep coming.

"I just miss her so much! How can I keep going when she's gone?"

"Do you think she'd want you to give up?" Logan asks him. "Do you think she'd want us to lose you too?"

Scott knows she wouldn't want that. He knows she would want him to live for her but he doesn't know how. How can he keep going when it hurts so much?

"I don't understand how you can just go back to the way things were like everything's fine."

Logan hugs him tighter.

"It's not fine." He pulls back to look at Scott's face, hold it in his hands. "I walk through these halls and all I see is everywhere she isn't. I see her empty chair at the table. I smell her shampoo on my pillow. Every day, I'm faced with all the spaces where she should be and how empty they are. It hurts." Logan swallows around the lump in his throat. "Losing someone you love always does. But I couldn't follow her even if I wanted to. I have no choice but to go on. So instead, I make sure I honor her in how I live. By taking care of those kids she wanted a better future for. By taking care of the people she loved."

Logan presses his forehead against Scott's.

"By taking care of you if you'll let me. I hope you will. Because I can't stomach having to bury the both a ya so close together. I'm beggin' ya not to make me, Scotty."

Scott tears up all over again, leaning into Logan's palm.

"I won't. I promise. I just don't think I can forget her."

“Ya can’t convince me yer deep enough in yer cups ta start with the existential questions kid.” Creed voiced back with a mocking tone in his voice, making light of the question as if subjects like that held no thought in his mind. A scoffed escaped him as he shook his head slightly and raised his whiskey glass to his lips.

His lips lingered on the glass a second longer than usual, expression dropping, eyes looking distant. Then it was over, his glass dropping back to the bar, his usual cocky and confident expression replacing the nearly inscrutable expression of daydreamy wants and what ifs.

What if he could be free of the weight of guilt coming from the atrocities committed by his own hand? Would he do it? Could he do it? In his reality it seemed everyone just saw him as a monster. The father. The lover. The friend. The endless war hogs knocking at his door with offers to satiate the deep bloodlust constantly scratching at the back of his mind like a rapid animal so long as he played the part of pet. So he played the part everyone expected of him, and there’s no denying that he’s good at it.

Believe it or not, Creed had a hard time believing he could be something different in this what if world. The heavy thought that he’ll eventually disappoint someone, that he’ll eventually fail, haunted him.

Creed looked down at his hand curled around the cool delicate glass; deadly claws for nails, strength in each finger capable of slicing sinew and bone. That what if world jerking away from him with reality burning like fire. He was sure he’d be a monster in every what if world.
