So let’s say you’re in the same boat I am (this is a running theme, have you noticed?) and you’ve just got, like, SO MUCH STUFF that HAS to get done YESTERDAY or you will DIE (or fail/get fired/mope). Everything needs to be done yesterday, you’re sick, and for whatever reason you are focusing on the least important stuff first. What to do!
Take a deep breath, because this is a boot camp in prioritization.
Make a 3 by 4 grid. Make it pretty big. The line above your top row goes like this: Due YESTERDAY - due TOMORROW - due LATER. Along the side, write: Takes 5 min - Takes 30 min - Takes hours - Takes DAYS.
Divide ALL your tasks into one of these squares, based on how much work you still have to do. A thank you note for a present you received two weeks ago? That takes 5 minutes and was due YESTERDAY. Put it in that square. A five page paper that’s due tomorrow? That takes an hour/hours, place it appropriately. Tomorrow’s speech you just need to rehearse? Half an hour, due TOMORROW. Do the same for ALL of your tasks
Your priority goes like this:
5 minutes due YESTERDAY
5 minutes due TOMORROW
Half-hour due YESTERDAY
Half-hour due TOMORROW
Hours due YESTERDAY
Hours due TOMORROW
5 minutes due LATER
Half-hour due LATER
Hours due LATER
DAYS due YESTERDAY
DAYS due TOMORROW
DAYS due LATER
At this point you just go down the list in each section. If something feels especially urgent, for whatever reason - a certain professor is hounding you, you’re especially worried about that speech, whatever - you can bump that up to the top of the entire list. However, going through the list like this is what I find most efficient.
Some people do like to save the 5 minute tasks for kind of a break between longer-running tasks. If that’s what you want to try, go for it! You’re the one studying here.
So that’s how to prioritize. Now, how to actually do shit? That’s where the 20/10 method comes in. It’s simple: do stuff like a stuff-doing FIEND for 20 minutes, then take a ten minute break and do whatever you want. Repeat ad infinitum. It’s how I’ve gotten through my to do list, concussed and everything.
You’ve got this. Get a drink and start - we can do our stuff together!
WOAH THIS SOUNDS HELPFUL. I’M GOING TO TRY THIS IMMEDIATELY. Also, I made a chart for myself, but if anyone else wants it for reference (or if this is wrong and I misread you can tell me) here it is:
This is genius. I think I mentally do this with my master to-do list in my BuJo. Tackling short things first to get the snowball rolling, and to clear up brain space and time for the big things.
But having a grid like this would be useful when I hit overwhelm.

A guide to booking doctor’s appointments over the phone
Phone calls can be nerve-wracking enough and scheduling doctor’s appointments can make them seem even worse. But we’ve all got to do it at some point so here’s a brief guide on how to get through it.
Check you have the correct phone number. Either ask a relative who is registered at the same practice or have a look online. Now we don’t need to worry about having the wrong number.
Take a deep breath before calling. It’s just the reception team who are going to answer the phone. Often they are friendly and they are there to assist you. They deal with lots of different requests each day and a simple appointment schedule will be no problem.
Keep breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth when the phone is ringing. I find the ringing tone is one of the worst parts but you’ll get through soon so don’t panic and don’t put the phone down. Sometimes it can take a while to get through to reception because it can be busy. If you’re waiting for 10 or more minutes, put the phone down and promise to try again in 30 minutes time.
When the person answers the phone, all you need to say first is “Could I book a doctor’s appointment please?”. Read that sentence to them if you like. All you need to do is let the person on the other end of the line know what you need.
The person on the phone will now ask you some questions such as “what day/date would you like?”, “what time?”, “What’s your date of birth?”, “What’s your name?” and “Which doctor would you like to see?” These questions are to make sure they’re scheduling in the right person. If it helps you, right down the answers on a sheet of paper first so you don’t forget or get your words tangled.
If you need to see a specific doctor or nurse, all you need to say is “Could I book an appointment with Doctor/Nurse [enter name here]”. There person on the phone should then be able to provide you with some date and time options and you can pick the one that’s best for you.
If the person on the end of the phone asks you what the appointment is for, then you can make it as vague or as specific as you like. Some examples could be: “I need to get my prescription” or “I need a check-up” or “I need to re-evaluate my current medication with the doctor”. The people on reception hear a lot in a day. They are not judging you, they just want to make sure you’re going to the right person for the right thing.
Once you have your appointment agreed, write it down somewhere straight away. Preferably write it down on a piece of paper in front of you then when you come off the phone put a reminder in your phone calendar.
Thank the person on the other end of the line. It’s always nice to feel appreciated!
Put the phone down and give yourself a pat on the back. You did it! You made your appointment all by yourself! Well done, now go and make yourself a hot drink to calm your nerves.
I've been job hunting since last November. My current job at a charity that barely pays me have no more funding and if they can't secure funding by September I'll be out of the only job I have right now. Therefore, im trying to be careful with money as much as I can right now, especially with the uncertainty of my ongoing family situation and costs that could arise for further legal help.
My glasses prescription has changed and ive been holding off from buying new glasses because of the cost, but unfortunately I can feel the strain its causing my eyes more and more since April. If anybody can help that would be great.
Go to paypal.me/iffiia and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.
£170 should be enough to cover a good portion of the cost for the frames and lense.
as-Salēm 3aleīcum, folks. You probably already know about Ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim and his parents, amongst the millions trapped in a life-or-death cycle systemically imposed on them in the Gaza Strip.
After surviving a coma and struggling to care for his elderly parents in a flooded, storm-ravaged tent, they still face the most immediate threat: he's had persistent hardships trying to afford very critical medication for his condition. As of now, he's been able to procure only 5 days-worth of meds, whilst still needing to afford basic groceries as well.
Due to the zionist siege and ensuing artificial scarcity, the price of his pills has skyrocketed beyond reach. Without them and proper medical care the occupation won't let him get in Gaza, doctors have warned his condition might further deteriorate. Every missed dose brings him closer to irreversible collapse.
His only path to survival is join his sister in Canada along with his parents, where they can finally access consistent healthcare, shelter, and safety. But right now, he cannot even afford the medicine that would keep him alive long enough to evacuate.
We helped him survive the coma and the storms. We cannot let him die waiting for pills. Please, help them get nurturing along with his meds.
Their GoFundMe campaign is now at just a wee over half their travel expenses:
And you can donate to them here:
PayPal, for daily and medical expenses
GoFundMe, to contribute to their travel expenses
Remember their campaign has been verified as #336 by @gaza-evacuation-funds
Please, donate what you can. Even small amounts add up to a dose. If you can't, please reblog this post, as exposure is their only supply line until Allāh ﷻ knows when.
Don't let a vulnerable person die from a treatable condition in plain sight. This is not just aid, it's a race against a blockade that prices people out of their own survival.
Though Ibrahim hasn't been present on Tumblr due to staff terminating his blogs, he's still in dire need of help. Ibrahim is currently looking for someone to help donate once a month to his new GoFundMe; $5 or $10, anything someone can comfortably give to help him and his mother.
If you'd be able to donate monthly, please consider helping Ibrahim!
From Ibrahim to all who support us
I am deeply grateful to everyone who ha… Samah M S needs your support for Support My Family’s Medical
Ibrahim's GoFundMe has only received 2 donations in the last two weeks, and has been stagnant for nearly a month.
Please donate if you can, Ibrahim and his family badly need donations and their situation is still dire. They truly can't afford for their campaign to stagnate like this.

Hi people, my friend Shenna needs some assistance with money. She lives in the Philippines and currently works cleaning peoples houses but hasn't been able to find work for a week or so. Please consider helping her out or share the post if you cant help directly.
Go to paypal.me/Shennasky and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.
Donations and reblogs have came to a standstill but my friend still does need some help. If anyone can lend a hand and match me donating at least £5 you would really be helping a girl in the global south out.
This has slowed down again and there still hasn't been many donations given. If anyone could give any amount thatd be really helpful as my friend has moved back to Manila from her small town and is currently job hunting but until she can find something, she needs some assistance. Please share if you can't donate.

I write these words with a broken heart. To those who read this and choose to ignore it, you can simply scroll past, but I am living through the most difficult moments of my life. My husband is slowly dying before my eyes. Due to a severe head and jaw injury, he has been unable to eat or drink for over a week, his weight has dropped to just 39 kilograms, and he is suffering from severe, life-threatening malnutrition.
The doctors confirmed he needs urgent surgery, but we can't afford the operation and treatment. I feel helpless watching him weaken day by day, while time is running out.💔
I'm not asking for the impossible; I'm simply asking for a chance to save his life. Please, if you can't donate, don't hesitate to share our story. It might reach someone who can give him a new lease on life.💔🙏
Sometimes, time seems to move in a vicious cycle, repeating itself in a painfully astonishing manner, as if mocking humanity's ability to learn from its mistakes. Two images are separated by 79 years, yet they appear as though no time has passed, as if the gap between them is merely a few fleeting moments.
The first image: A Palestinian elder holding the keys to his home, from which he was forcibly displaced after the Nakba of 1948. An image filled with pain, with tears that dried on faces, and hearts that collapsed under the weight of loss. Yet, hope for return still filled those hearts.
The second image: A recent photo that tells the same story, but this time, the protagonist is my young sister, Maryam, holding the keys to our home from which we were displaced and demolished after the Nakba of 2023.
There is no difference between the two stories, except that this time, the story is even harsher and more painful.
I know exactly how few donations this campaign has been receiving lately, because I am the organiser. I receive an e-mail every time a donation is made. I put them all in a folder, unread, so I can see exactly how many people have donated at any time. Seeing that number go up means my friends are more secure, and their situation is anything but right now.
I have made two transfers to Maryam's family since I started this fundraiser. They were much needed. They still are.
This is a verified fundraiser. Gazavetters #15.
These are my friends.
Please. Donate. Please. Share. I'm begging you.
If you want to donate but have questions about how the funds are transferred, feel free to get in touch!
tagging for reach, please share and aks your friends to share as well, thank you <3 (let me know if you don't want me to tag you anymore, apologies for any multiple tags)

“I’m really inspired by the 70s. Colors in general are such an inspiration: Colorful interior design, colorful architecture, anything colorful really. My pants are Celia B, sneakers Caval, glasses Nathalie Blanc, and the rest is vintage.”
