Nathan quickly wrapped his arms around her. “shhh.. it’s okay…” he tried to soothe her. He had never seen this state and it started to worry him. “Ken, it’s okay… he’s still so little… he needs you… you just need a good night sleep… I can watch him for you and Ryan if you want ?” 

   "Sleep? I haven't slept properly in...three months.I need sleep.Yes;no.No.I can't leave him.I need him.I'll miss him."

Have you tried every possible thing to make him stop crying?

    I haven't tried one thing... a pillow to the face. Omg! Mine. MINE, not his... I would never do that! I meant my own face...oh my god.What's wrong with me?

"Go lay down, baby. Me and little man over here will be fine.. Get some rest" he pressed a kiss to the top of her head and walked over to Ryder. "Now.. I know what Daddy told you, ge told you that crying doesn’t help anything, so if you want something, you have to scream, but your screaming is making mommy tired… Do you think you can stop?" he cooed, brushing his nose against Ryder’s and giving a soft smile as he calmed down. 

    "Rest.Go rest. Go rest he says.Makes it sound so damn easy." Her tone grew more bitter the more the watched how calm Ryder was with him. She rolled her hazel eyes,turning on her heel for the bedroom,slamming the door shut behind her.    She found comfort by stuffing her face against the pillow,a pool of tears soaking into the material.A part of her was simply exhausted,the other part of her was truly growing more frightened with herself.Her son was her whole world,and lately all she did was grow frantic and impatient with every thing he did.

"Preach."

    "I stand there.At his crib.I watch him just cry.It takes me a while but I finally pick him up,and he still just screams...then Ryan just takes him from me and in two seconds he's fast asleep...what am I doing wrong?"

"Kenna? That’s what babies do…they cry…what’s the matter with you ? you look….awful…" 

   "You've been a father for what three days? It's been three months,and he just CRIES! I can't take it!" Her own words stung,realizing how awful that sounded she began to cry. "I don't mean that.No.I love him.I love my son.Nathan I love my son!"

Kenna, yeah I’ll be fine. You can actually. There’s a rag over there by the counter. Can you bring that over? I don’t want to have any blood stains on this shirt.

     "Of course!" Kenna grabbed the rag from off the counter,rushing to his side to tend to the wound. "Shouldn't you be healing?" 

I’m guessing this happens on a regular basis?

    You wouldn't believe me if I told you this happened when I was pregnant. Some men, I tell you.... the nerve.

"You… you’ve been dying to meet me?"
