If she really did only care about herself…

She wouldn’t have cared about Shadow and Omega’s wellbeing during their adventures together.

She wouldn’t have given Knuckles the Master Emerald shards that she had previously worked hard to obtain. (Adventure 2)

She wouldn’t have let Shadow rest at her place when he was low on energy. (Battle)

She wouldn’t have reaffirmed her loyalty to Shadow in response to the possibility that the world could turn against him. (Sonic ‘06)

She wouldn’t have joined the Resistance in their crusade against Robotnik and Infinite. (Forces)

She wouldn’t have saved Amy’s life despite their uneasy relationship. (Sonic X)

There’s a lot of good reasons I use a Rouge keyring to hold my keys, a Rouge charm to decorate my old phone (new phones don’t have the dangle loops) and a Rouge art card from Ben Bates hangs on my wall.

Rouge is a great character, and I get the feeling that this is often missed because herr herr sexy animal lady

I mean, this girl is 18 and she’s a treasure hunter, works as a part time spy for the President, and works as an agent for the military. As well as team leader for Team Dark.

I could go on and on about all her good points and what she’s done for the series and how many of the stories could have been drastically different if she hadn’t been involved.

Heck, the whole reason Team Dark exists is because Rouge made Shadow and Omega work together after making them talk it all out. Do you really think Shadow and Omega would have worked together on thier own if Rouge didn’t make them get along? Rouge is the glue that holds this team together

And they are still together to this day

Moments like these would not have been possible without Rouge

Oh, and remember that time in Sonic X where she was crying because Cosmo was going to sacrifice herself to save everyone, and snapped at Knuckles for being so blunt about it?

… Oh, right, 4Kids cut this scene out of the dub because 4Kids edited a lot of content…

But still.
