It’s difficult to tell - typically light fixtures are installed using some combination of screws and brackets to affix them to the wall, but in this case the actual point of connection is obscured by a cat.
It feels so much more egregious in this movie. At least the first movie was all Mario cameos after they went to the mushroom kingdom. Now they are literally breaking the universe just have have Fox in most of this movie xD
The really fascinating thing about Super Mario Galaxy from a critical perspective is that nearly every scene is great, great acting, great animation, great jokes.
But it's really apparent that the writers were hired to write a bunch of individual scenes and not a single story. I assume that executive meddling is involved somehow, but it makes for a truly fascinating case study. Usually when you get these "a bunch of chopped up scenes" movies the scenes are also not that great, but here it feels like a lot of effort went into making each scene work, with absolutely no effort going into making each scene link up.
You know, The Amazing Digital Circus is kind of an accidental critique of the isekai genre.
Like, you see so many characters ripped from their lives and even their own bodies and be completely fine afterwards and here is TADC being like "nah, that would be a very traumatic experience."
Not that I'd slight the genre for it, tbh. If every isekai anime started with the main character having a full scale panic attack, that would get redundant after the thousandth time. Fiction is fiction, sometimes you got to get to the point sooner than later. However, I do wish more anime would at least address it.
I think part of the problem is that most isekai begin from the premise that the main character was just a complete sad sack with no friends or loving family or fulfilling job or really anything in their original life that's worthwhile.
They don't have a freakout because they're too busy having an anti-freakout, lost in enraptured awe about the world that they've been shoved in where they get to be super-special cinammon rolls.
(This isn't generally true of the better isekai; it's almost possible to judge an isekai's overall quality immediately based on how much weight the protagonist's original life and relationships have on their new world and experience. But the better isekai are a small slice of the genre as a whole.)

If ever you get tired of responding to questions about "rp-forward" games with verbosity and pedantry (which, to be clear, heaven forfend you do, I love reading those posts) may I humbly suggest the (in my opinion highly entertaining) alternative of telling people "Good Society will probably work for you" and refusing to elaborate?
You know for a fact that if I ever resorted to a bit like that it would be Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine.

The structure of the game manages to hit a remarkable number of features that folks who think "RP forward" actually means something and isn't just a marketing phrase would typically regard as categorically excluding a system from being "RP forward", while looking nothing like the kind of game you'd tend to picture based on those features.
You don't want the mechanics sticking their nose into every little thing? Chuubo's is so intensely preoccupied with mechanising the mundane that forming intentions to do things is a rules-mediated action. There are specific target numbers for stuff like "do it correctly", "look like you actually know what you're doing", and "be happy with the result", and without a relevant skill or resource expenditure, the best outcome you can ordinarily achieve is "make everything worse".
You want to do stuff because it "makes sense for your character", and not because it gives the most points? As far as Chuubo's is concerned, those are the same thing. Just living your everyday life is framed as a kind of quest, with milestones and XP triggers and whatnot; this is a game where you might actively look for excuses to "have a conversation in a poorly lit place" or "gaze contemplatively over a large body of water" because your personal quest line awards XP for doing that.
You want a game that will let you make up whatever character you want and doesn't expect you to faff about with "classes" and "levels" and such? Not only does Chuubo's effectively have both of those things, it's so strongly opinionated about what sorts of characters are appropriate that it recommends you use pregenerated characters until you get a good feel for the milieu. One of those pregens has a character sheet that's twenty pages long – and you might assume that means most of it is just a big tedious lore dump, but it's not.
And on top of all that, it's not combat focused (because it has no formal combat system) and doesn't ask you to roll dice all the time (by dint of the technicality that it's a diceless system), so it can't readily be dismissed as "not RP forward" on any of the usual grounds. It's a slice of life game about adolescent gods attending high school. The kid who owns the titular Wish-Granting Engine can turn into a giant snake.
The only reason to actually play this game beyond novelty is if you have a supreme case of writer's block and are running behind to turn in a manuscript of an azumanga-esque 4koma chapter

"New Yorkers bite more people than sharks annually" is an excellent example of how statistics can be misleading. Like yeah no shit, do you have any idea how rare it is to even encounter a shark in the wild? They're not exactly urban animals. I'm pretty damn sure that if sharks were living in big cities like pigeons, just strolling down the streets looking for food scraps, you'd see a lot more news stories about New Yorkers biting them.

Hi, are you the same FrivYeti that wrote Patchwork Magisters and Champions? I got into Champions from the TVTropes page and got really engaged in it, but the old Magisters archive seems to cut off in the middle of a story arc, and from Wayback it looked like there was more written that wasn't included in the archive.
Did Magisters ever finish? Is there any way to read what else might've been written? I've been itching for answers to the 'mystery' for a while, but I understand if this might be a sore spot. Or if you have no idea what I'm talking about, because I might still have the wrong person. Feel free to ignore me if so.

You have indeed found the correct FrivYeti, and I'm delighted to learn that Patchwork Champions and Magisters are still finding a place in people's hearts. It's a real blast from the past!
There is good news and bad news. The good news is that there's quite a bit more Magisters than that old website held, and a lot of it is even collected. As you guessed, I moved to a different website which I thought would be a better fit... and it no longer exists, leaving most of Magisters in the wind. But I had collections saved of the first three volumes of the story, which covers about twenty-one chapters, including a few that never made it online.
The bad news is, that's still not the end. I had a plan for five volumes, and the story crashed out halfway through Volume 4 and really wrecked my motivation so I never went back to it.
If you're interested, I can send you a google doc link to as much of the story as currently exists, and answer questions, though. I'm still happy to talk about the story, even if it did end on a sour note. Keeps the characters alive.

2015 and 2016 were not good years for me. I’d given up on my dream of being a writer as my primary trade, thrown myself into my secondary passion to become a professional fundraiser, and was struggling with a tough job market, stringing together contract work and part-time jobs to make ends meet. My romantic life was a bit of a mess, my personal life was a lot of a mess, and the world didn’t seem to be going great.
So I did what I often did when I was depressed. I created. And what I built was a little town, where people who were ordinary went about their days surrounded by things that were big, and magical, and dangerous, and they focused on their day-to-day lives because making changes there was what would save them.
I built a hero who just wanted to live a normal life, and a fortune teller who just wanted an exceptional one. I built a kid who wanted to grow up too fast, and a merchant who was losing sight of her goals. An old man who’d forgotten the things he sacrificed everything for, and a young one who was quietly rebuilding without anyone knowing. A priest who had seen the world pass them by and didn’t know how to reach out, and a mechanic who was reaching out and didn’t know how to stop. All of them were my own fears, my hopes, and my dreams. These little folks were living the life I was, or the life I wanted or the life I was afraid was waiting for me.
And in the middle of all of that, I got a bit of encouragement. Jenna Moran, the creator of Chuubo’s, happened to see Rustic Vale, and she let me know that she thought it was good. It meant a lot, and I set about turning it from a campaign into a project - something that I could actually share with the world.
Which is where things kind of changed. I’m in a better place these days. The world is still a mess, but I have a job that I care about, a spouse I love deeply, and a life that I’m proud of. I’ve published two novels, I’ve written commission work that inspired me, and I’ve got a raft of little RPG projects that people like to read.
But I never published Rustic Vale.
I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted it to be professionally laid out, with gorgeous artwork and careful editing. I wanted it polished, and finished, and I kept making little changes and shifts. Along the way, the mechanics I’d used to build the characters changed as Jenna continued her own work on the Book of Golden Hours, and suddenly the characters were going to need substantial fixes. And releasing the book incomplete felt wrong. It felt like a betrayal.
But it’s not. The world is in a bad place, and maybe what some of you need right now is what I needed back then - just a little bit of a window into a place that lost everything, and built it back up. It’s not much. It’s not finished, and maybe it never will be. But it’s mine. It’s Rustic Vale.
