Bringing up a real example- Jaiden animations had an issue with people shipping her and drawing porn of her with her friends that made her deeply upset as an aroace person. Its not as bad now as she has voiced how upset it makes her. You don't think that people drawing and writing porn of real people who explicitly ask you to stop is wrong? Its not like it's hard to not make porn of someone who asks you not to.
So, this is a completely separate problem from "people drawing fanart of my characters" and I'm not sure where you're connecting the two.
But the issue here also isn't people drawing fanart and/or porn, it's aphobia and how people view aroace folks.
The focus in that shouldn't be "its so gross people draw porn/fanart without asking", its "people so often view aro/ace sexualities/romanticities as a phase and/or fixable, to the extent of drawing/writing about it".
Drawing porn of real people really wasn't even the subject at hand but that also really depends on the situation, the people involved, etc. Like, I cannot emphasize enough that there is, in fact, nuance to these situations.
(Also, just to be clear, I don't know who that is, nor do I know anything about the situation beyond what you just said so, grain of salt with all of this.)
i keep thinking about this post ant the posts this ask was reacting to where the conversation was about rule 34 and artist who deleted their art because of people drawing porn of their characters without consent and whether or not that constitutes rape culture. r34 drawn of real people is still r34 so the refusal to consider this part of the same conversation has been bugging me since i read this post.
whether or not r34 is connected to rape culture aside the fact that ive seen incest porn of Jaiden animations and her mother and ive seen people argue that its okay because other people are gunna do it anyway is proof that r34 as a cultural idea has problems
also people drawing that predates her coming out as ace so the root problem isnt aphobia its rule 34 and the cultural attitudes that internet culture around it enables
