After finishing my last drawing of 16-year-old Miranda rescuing her baby sister, Oriana, I needed to archive and honor her pain in more than an illustration. I dipped back into a bit of realism for them.

I have a fairly regular issue that needs surgical intervention about 1-2 times a year. The surgeries themselves are small but invasive. I've been dealing with a pile of medical bills from a past issue that's about to get bigger due to two necessary surgeries coming up, both of them basically advanced excisions.

Also, I'll most likely need to switch the way I get my HRT to a more self-directed method in the next few weeks, and the upfront costs to switch are rough for me. I could've sorta tanked that in a normal year, but not now. All this combined is hitting at the absolute worst time possible.

I've said before that I took up a second job to shore up some of my bills, but that was a part-time gig that's no longer available. And again, no hard feelings if you simply can't or won't for any reason, but especially if you're helping those of us that are doing far, far worse than I am.
