Directions & A Name
âMy sister. She went missing, kind of. She left a note?â Kanaya pulls the worn paper from her pocket, the deep creases showing how often sheâs opened and closed it over time. âIâm just assuming youâre Kurloz. Iâm sorry. She only left coordinates and a name. I didnât know what to do, really.â
âThat brings me to another concern- Even if you intend to send me on my way, would it be okay for me to at least stay the night here?â She makes a face when she says it. Porrim had told her stories, not enough to know really how the two interacted, but enough to know Kurloz was at the very least a good person. Thoough questionable in his methods sometimes.Â
She waved a hand, dismissing a thought. âLook,â she says carefully, âIâve been dealing with rather unsavory characters lately.â Literally. Bums are not very appetizing.
She also esperatly hoped that the demon pulling cables off itself wasnât doing so to be able to engage. Sheâd had to leave her chainsaw behind, and she sorely missed it. Sheâd managed to pick up a knife or two in her travel, but she doubted her ability to fight right now- esppecially being weakned by not truly being invited into the home. âI mean you absolutely no harm, and should you allow me to stay, I an assist you in any endeavors a vampire can assist with- I esecially excel in gardening and sewing. Including sewing of the medical variety.â
She tucks the note back into her pants, and splays her empty hands in front of her. âI can also remove any weaponry I have and place them somewhere, shuld you wish.â She wasnât sure she would remove everything, since she would also want to be on the lookout- something might have followed her, she was too tired to notice at this point.
Gamzee seemed to be in thought. Meanwhile the third demon managed to get itself unclamped. It said something in the same jibberish as the previous demon, which was still hiding behind itâs master. After a few seconds that left the room feeling energized and intense, the answer game.
A slight shake of his head. Instantly the demons relaxed, the one which had removed the cables groaned, shuffling back towards the clamps and plopping itself down on the pile. âMissing huh? Thatâs pretty damn unfortunate girle. But thereâs one problem with that story of yours. Kurloz is dead.â
He said this rather matter of factually. âThe Olâ Manâs been dead for a while now. Iâm his next of kin, little brother almost. But more like a whole lot a greats-grandson.â A short sigh followed this statement, complete with the shrug that lowered his shoulders far enough to almost give the appearance of sadness. Almost.
âWelcome to the Demon House. I donât mind you hanging around. As long as you donât attract any unwanted attention or get in my way. Weâve got to run a tight ship here. Everythingâs got a place and a job.â At this moment the demon which had previously been wearing clamps reattached two of them, the reaction to that being a shock of energy flashing. Two of the appliances jury-rigged together then caught fire.
Gamzee grimaced, watching two of his other demons leap up to attempt to put out the fire. He offered a weak smile to Kanaya. âNameâs Gamzee. In this times I couldnât turn away help or one of our own anyway.â He of course was referring to Mythologicals, the category of people currently being hunted to extinction.
