this episode was pretty good, fight choreography was great too and i loved seeing some actual turmoil and stakes

BUT

they really messed up by not letting Legato get killed here i think, it would be a great way of showing that while yes, it was the right thing to do Vash and the others are still horrified by him taking a life, would lead to some actual discussion on Vash's beliefs , but i get they aren't nearly enough episodes to wrap everything up and have downtime in between for character development. sighhh

I feel like Trigun Stargaze is running into the problem that having had Trigun Stampede be a quasi-prequel (which was really good!), they're now having to remake 26 episodes/14 volumes of story to fit 12 episodes.

Honestly, I have to think that this would work better if they'd had 24 episodes, having the first 12 lead up to Knives reawakening, and then the final 12 dealing with Knives' whole plan, the arrival of the colony ship, everything with Wolfwood, etc.

And I mean, god knows there are plenty of unused Gung-Ho Guns to fill a 12 episode arc as Baddies of the Week. Have Dominique, Rai-Dei, and Caine to join Midvalley and Leonof as a little gang under Legato, and you're solid, with that also giving time to develop Legato as a villain.
