And those who harpe on Ladybug missed the point that it was supposed to be a mistake. It wasn’t written off to be Ladybug just once again refusing to pick Chloe. Marinette after spending the day with Kagami and Adrien was still having a hard time letting Adrien go. Even though she was the one allow them alone time she had a last-minute peg of regret and acted irrationally by taking Kagami so she can give her the dragon miraculous. 

This resulted in Chloe becoming hurt which Hawkmoth used for his advantage to manipulate Chloe into helping him. Hawkmoth was planning on Ladybug for passing the chance to use Chloe to help save her own parents knowing this would have Chloe break all trust with Ladybug. 

Of course, Ladybug wasn’t intentionally trying to wrong Chloe, in fact I know if she was in a more peaceful state of mind she would’ve utilized Chloe over Ryuko. However, Ladybug is a human being with emotions and she acted out a tad selfishly which just gives her a chance to reflect on how she can improve as a hero and develop as a person. It was an intentional mistake that would make her an even better hero by the end of the series.

tl;dr: he’s given a hard time for things i consider out of his control both character-and story-wise. i see why people think his goof ups outnumber his successes but i simply do not share the sentiment. (also i’m not interested in debating this. you can reply and disagree as you’d like, but no guarantees i’ll bite. i said this at the end but i’ll say it here too for anyone who didn’t read through everything.)

i’m gonna preface this with saying you are super rad so i don’t mean this as an attack to you (or anyone else who feels this way because i know for a fact i have other mutuals in the same boat). everybody’s got different perspectives, and whether i necessarily agree or not i can totally respect ‘em. that being said, i’m gonna go to town here on why i personally super-duper hate this take on Fu:
