Today I realized something.
Adrien now knows that Alya and Nino can keep their miraculous even though they know each other’s identities.
But Multimouse only revealed herself to Chat Noir. (and yes i know that from Marinette’s and the audience’s perspective it’s completely different, but consider it how Adrien sees it.)
For him, it’s almost a direct comparison. A temporary hero’s identity is revealed to one other hero.
The temporary heroes (Nino and Alya) can keep theirs when it happens. Ladybug knows and let them. She was the one who caused this.
And yet, when it’s him, the only other full time hero (to his knowledge), and Ladybug’s partner, suddenly it’s not safe anymore.
And I just— Adrien needs a hug.
i was actually thinking earlier — this actually could be the thing that gets him to confront ladybug.
chat noir, so far, has avoided letting her know anything is wrong
this makes sense. as a civilian, adrien rarely stands up for himself. but for others? no hesitation.
marinette would give him a good excuse to confront ladybug thats not about him but about helping her - a confrontation adrien is historically more comfortable with
defending marinette gives him an opportunity to air out his own frustrations, but by removing it from himself, he doesn’t have to feel the worry about being a burden or asking for too much — its not about him, after all
it‘d be the perfect opportunity for chat noir to open up…. if only that wasn't the one secret identity ladybug has very good reasons to keep
