I don’t know which I find weirder.
Old home computers with integrated cassette players for data storage.
Or boomboxes with floppy disk drives for music play.
What do you think of the Sony Mavica? Camera that takes 3.5 inch floppies
Fuck, I forgot about that!
But let me counter with vinyl disks used for video playback!
these all fuck so hard
Technological oddities
pure heroine is about being a teenager and melodrama is about early adulthood but i think, in a way, that pure heroine hurts more and hits more the older you get. because it’s about being a teenager but in a bittersweet way. it’s not graduation but it’s the days before and the days after. when the leaves start to change and the final summer of your youth begins. it’s sitting in the dark with your high school friends and realising that you might never do this with these people again. it’s going on one last drive with your best friend before you go to college. it’s handing in the last essay for your favourite class and the joy you expected doesn’t come, instead you just feel lost. it’s being with someone you love and trying to ignore the voice in the back of your mind saying “in a year, you might pass them on the street and not even say hi.” it’s crying on the street at 3am because you’re drunk and tired and the only phone number you can think of is your childhood best friend’s landline. it’s the fact that pure heroine is about being on the outside looking in and melodrama is about the sadness that comes with being the life of the party, but a world alone is the bridge that connects the two: it’s sitting at a shitty high school party surrounded by people you don’t care for and you all know it’s a bad party but you all stay because deep down you know that one day, all of it, all of you, are going to be gone, and you need this unremarkable moment while you can have it. and i don’t know if lorde intended it to resonate this way, because she wrote the album when she was sixteen, but it hits in a new and painful way when sitting under the overpass and riding the bus around town because none of you can drive and laying on the road with adrenaline running through your veins...is all in the past. there’s no more time to kill. because nobody misses being sixteen but the people you loved back then are always going to know you in a completely unique way to everyone else. and you’ll always miss that feeling. because even if you no longer know them or love them...in a way, you always will.
what is your cishet male trait mine is being a car fan

“If you listen to Girl in Red you’re a lesbian and if you listen to Sweater Weather you’re bisexual and if you listen to Mother Mother you’re nonbinary and–”
*two mildly attractive guys share 30 seconds of screen time together*
All of Tumblr:
the reason so many white teenage girls had the "let me speak to the manager" cut in like 2008-2012 is that we wanted to be edgier. We wanted a look that screamed, "I'm emo and questioning my sexuality," trust me. But we all went into our mom's hairdresser who'd been doing our cuts since we were toddlers and tried to express this desire and they said "gotcha, asymmetrical bob," and we said, "uh, sure?" because that was as good as it was gonna get.
apparently ur last 5 non face emojis are ur aestuetic. ❤💞🏳️🌈🏃♂️💔 AWWW
