Holy Week dump so far bc I remembered today I used to be a bit of a place for LGBT/queer Christianity and I am still around and religious lollll

I found an amazingly traditional Anglican/Episcopal parish that is tremendously queer in its own right and have had such a wonderful time since I joined last year. I only veiled today for Good Friday (and only wearing the snood underneath that mantilla! Mantilla was too formal so I only took a picture with it and used it to cover my shoulders haha).

I love God and love our tradition so much—I was lucky enough to be raised very religiously so it was nice to remember my childhood all day. Good Fridays were very pious and somber growing up and I remember my mother fasting, which I did today too (and on Ash Wednesday 🫡). There is just such an experience of being dead fucking hungry in the pews that gets you to focus on God, lol. My partner fainted yesterday in the pews bc there was so much incense and kneeling and whatnot, one for the books !!!

Anyway, I spent yesterday and today with my church friends, and one of our parish members has a key to a special Los Angeles garden and showed us around!!! Look at the fruit!!! Tomorrow two of my friends are being confirmed/baptized/first communion and it’s very exciting. Service tomorrow is 2.5 HOURS but I am excited :p I have family coming in for it too, yippee!
