I know to me, being in a store can be stressful when regressed, so here's a little advice from a fellow regressor in retail! Hopefully this is helpful to someone!

Adults drink chocolate milk more than you think

Plushies delight other people, don't be afraid to bring one out occasionally. Someone might even ask to learn more about them!

Just complain about the weather if you're caught in conversation. Unless it's 70 and sunny, everyone's got something bad to say about the weather. It'll get you through convos you don't wanna be in, in a pinch

Saying "sorry, I'm shy/anxious" gets you further than you think if you're mostly nonverbal

Saying "I don't know what I should get, what do you think?" (or similar) to someone you're with is more common than you think. Use it if you're indecisive, or it helps you to feel little to be ordered/shopped for

No one looks at you weird for getting baby stuff or toys with your shopping. No one

Especially not the cashier. Even if I wasn't a regressor, we're not paid enough to really pay attention to what you're getting in the first place, I'm busy thinking about what I'm gonna eat after work

If you're REALLY worried about judgement, give me an in to complain about my job when I'm ringing up what you're worried about. Ask about the pay, if my boss is nice, how long I'm there for or how early I started, etc etc. I'll be so focused on complaining that I REALLY won't be paying attention

Relax. People are more focused on themselves than you realize. No one's worrying about you, have a fun time with your outing!

Agere/petre PSA! Remember, even younglings need to take responsibility for their actions! If you hurt someone or their belongings, it is your responsibility to apologize and make it up to them! Regression is a way to cope with trauma, not an escape from consequences! Treat your caregivers and playmates with respect, and remember, just like you, they have a right to say no!

instead of comforting you when he has to clean your stuffies, he's devastated WITH you, like what do you mean mr sniffles needs.... CLEANING??

the funniest caregiver ever, half the time it's unintentional. there is never a boring day with this man, he's got an unbirthday planned every day of the year: and the loveliest birthday party when it finally rolls around.

he makes tiny hats for every. single. one. of your plushies. they're his friends and therefore, they deserve a nice accessory to match.

he's perfected making your favourite drink with his eyes closed. no matter if it's tea, mocha, coffee, milkshake, he's ready and your taste buds are excited.

i don't know where he keeps them but if you start whining about being hungry, your hands are suddenly full of sweets and biscuits that he always has with him.

he buys you toys he wishes he had, had as a kid and can sometimes be found just... holding them. :(
