Not everyone is going to be cheerful and optimistic at all times! Even those people who you may think always wear a smile have their breaking points! So when someone is going through something and their emotions are not what you'd like to see or hear, don't discredit them and make them feel like they have to hide their 'negative' emotions just because you're uncomfortable with it or any other reason. They're not your emotions, so let them have theirs.
