i was browsing through youtube and came across this short. i got very curious, since the title had 'scrapbook' in it. i am SO glad i clicked on it because i wouldn't have seen these cool photos otherwise - BEWARE, MASSIVE FANGIRLING AHEAD!!
let's start with this cool photo from 1978! as you can see, Ted's still with them. sadly, no sight of 6025; this must've been taken months after their formation. Ray is doing what he does best in most photos, which is standing awkwardly (it's ok, i still love him) and also are my eyes deceiving me or is that a glimpse of his skin just riiiight above his belt?? that can't be good for me 😅

MORE SHOTS OF RAY!!! <333 the quality may be crap but i can tell he's wearing that white button-up shirt that's speckled with a bunch of colors. he's definitely wearing the yellow one on the right and i'm willing to bet that the photo was taken in 1982 at the elite club.

lastly, we have at least three photos on these pages that we have not seen before - the one on the lower left of the first page, and the two photos on the middle row of the second page. boy, where do i start?
first of all, that iconic photoshoot of them on the balcony is one of my favorites, so imagine my excitement when i've come across YET another photo! they all look sooo great there, especially Ray. LIKE COME ON HE LOOKS SO HOT AND HIS HAIR LOOKS SOOO GOOD ON THAT PHOTOSHOOT. ugh i'm definitely gonna do more digging so i could get my hands on a much clearer version of that photo!
moving on to the second page, we've got that photo of Ted, Jello, and Klaus together. as usual, Jello's being his silly little self - still a cool find regardless!
beside that is also yet another photo of Jello. sadly, the person flips through the page quickly, so it's pretty difficult to take a good look at it unless you can pause the video at the right time. but yeah, that's another shirtless pic of Jello, as you can tell by the upside down cross on his abdomen.
i'm really happy with these. i'm gonna try to find the actual photos someday - there is no way that these don't exist anywhere on the internet! I'LL DO ANYTHING JUST SO I COULD SEE MORE OF THEM. AND RAY.

i wonder what jello's reaction would be if he saw a handful of people treating the DKs like a leftist boy band...would he be furious, thinking that we missed the entire point of their message/music?
like, No jello i assure you that's not the case at all, and i bet there were women back in the 80s who, after having gone to your shows, would be lounging around at home with their besties, painting their nails and doing makeup and sorting through their DK physical media while saying stuff like, "Jello was sooo hot and cute tonight!!" and then a friend, as she's chewing gum, says "He's so overrated—Ray is so MUCH cuter!!" while another friend argues that "No, Klaus is the cutest!!" and then one of the gals has this sad look on her face as she says, "I miss Ted and 6025..." then her bestie beside her pats her reassuringly on the shoulder as she says, "It's okay, sweetie...but I'd argue that 6025 doesn't belong with them, and Darren's a much better drummer than Ted. He's also the cutest out of them all."
and then there's this onslaught of whining and protesting from the others which inevitably leads into a pillow fight that lasts ten minutes before they all go to sleep—tomorrow is yet another day for them to see their favorite band of all time.
If such a friend group existed during that time, I could not be anymore envious.
