it’s a mostly soft and sweet college au w some angst and a lot of mutual pining <3

I remember being a beginner artist in non realism, trying to find my style. There was one picture I was proud of, made when kpdh was gaining severe popularity. I, personally, found the ships between Zoe and Mira and the saja boys to be trite and lacking, and I didn’t ship them. I liked the Zoemira ship, but could also see them as platonic, so bottom line, none of this was a big deal to me. The drawing was an image of Zoe and Mira holding hands and walking, and I posted it on Pinterest in all my pride.

And when I was expecting to have my art recognized, thrilled at the amt of likes and comments to I got, I made the mistake of opening the comment section. I was so obviously a beginner artist, I was so obviously attempting to put myself out in the world, and what was I greeted with? “Is this a ship?” “Ew gross shipping them is so weird!” “Ship them w the saja boys like a normal person.”

I was disgusted by not only the blatant hate towards an innocent ship, treating it weird js bc it was lesbian, but moreover, as an aro/ace, I was disgusted by the fact that ppl saw this and it just had to be romantic. It was just two girls holding hands, and people had to attack a young artist and destroy her self esteem just because of their need to take everything as a ship and their need to then attack that ship just for its queer nature.

so yeah, Ted talk over. If this is you, stop fucking up a little girls self esteem bc you can’t get over two girls holding hands.

If you can't find anything on fmhy, check the megathread on r/piracy. Also very great, also reputable, and also updated frequently. I exclusively use those two to find sites, and I've never been unable to find something I was looking for.

and to any of you who remember mimikyu_27 on ao3 (my most popular fic was a Satosugu practiced intimacy fic called I told you I liked you, (you said sober up) if it jogs anyone’s memory), yes that was me, and I think you deserve some slight explanation for why I disappeared of the face of the earth. I won’t be going into detail bc this is personal but @glasscarly was so sweet to me as a young writer w a low self esteem and Ik they’re going to see this.

I deleted my account pre-ap season bc atp my mental health was deteriorating to the point where my body couldn’t keep up. I took 3 ap tests in freshman year and 4 aps, and that too I’m not good at accepting anything less than a 5. Before aps I’d stress myself to the point of throwing up, staying up till 4 in the morning w school the next day js violently coughing and shaking. (But dw I feel a lot better now, and think I did well on all of them!!)

on top of that, my personal life was a mess (and still is). I didn’t feel comfortable w the added pressure of writing and posting, though I will admit, if anyone left me a sweet comment, It was always the most amazing ego/serotonin boost.
