A finalized image of the Pineapple Wedding Shawl You may be saying, but Rae, why didn't you block it? And, well, there are a couple of reasons. First and foremost, I was worried I might stretch it in a bad way. This is not typical lace-weight yarn and it is pretty inconsistent in its thickness throughout the ply. It has slubs of poofy cotton and is linen as well. It would do fine with some water, but stretching it? It could do weird stuff. Secondly, I like it freeform. I imagine the lay of it will develop over time with wear and care and that's ok. Lastly, I have no idea how or where I would block something this large.
