Normally, (as most can tell) I try to keep my posts on here as wholesome as possible, however, I have been paying attention to a game as of late, known as Day of Dragons.

Day of dragons is supposed to be a open world simulator/survival game where you play as a dragon. (Think games like the Isle, and Draconia, for two good examples) The game has gone through plenty of its scandals, however, I’ve been noticing one thing the devs of this game have been struggling with, and that would be art theft/design theft. Mainly from franchises like HTTYD. (Mind you, this is a game that costs 20 usd on Steam; and it had a 500,000 usd Kickstarter)

Note! I hit image limit, so I will be reblogging this to properly show off all of the images. Second, they did not only steal designs from dreamworks, but they also stole designs from Disney with the Avatar movies. (The blue people)

Now, for the main part of this post, I will be showing off their designs, compared to the httyd designs.

Meet their Shadowscale-

From these shots alone, they look eerily similar to the Night Fury. And, while you could say “But Maea, what if it’s animated differently than the Night Fury?”

It isn’t.

While the heads are slightly (a minute difference) different compared to the Night Fury, since it’s in a more realistic style, we can clearly see that they HEAVILY resemble one another.

Now, I’m moving onto concept art of dragons that are not already in the game.

Number one:

This one looks… oddly like a Skrill, minus the fact that it doesn’t have any legs.

And for the final two, we have the “Hybrid Dragon” and the Healer Dragon (which looks like a creature from a different franchise) the healer dragon is in part two

I am making this post more as a sort of “beware” idea, since these designs are all heavily referenced off of more successful, large franchises, and it’s probably not legal. So, watch out for the game on Steam, and if you end up seeing it, I would suggest avoiding it.

Again, I’m only doing this so people can look out for the game and it’s dev team (BeAwesome Games), and so they can avoid giving money to a company like this. (And I am only scratching the surface of this monstrous scandal, so if you want to read more, you can look up Day of Dragons Scandal, or Anthomnia’s videos “Goodbye for now, Day of Dragons” and “Day of Dragons Should Have Never Come To This”, where he describes the situation (which has obviously developed further now; these are both kind of old) with the admins, with the head dev of the game, and the community itself. (Warning: the last video I listed does contain some graphic and disturbing topics that were in comments Anthomnia received after saying he was done with Day of Dragons for the time being, so be careful).

Life is full of ups and downs, pull yourself back up from that dark place and heal from what hurts.

If you don’t take the time to heal what broke you then you’ll bleed on someone who never cut you.
