even spicier take:Ā ānon-binaryā means a thousand different things to a thousand different people and therefore anyone of any sexuality could theoretically be attracted to a non-binary person in some capacity, so if youāre gay and someone youāre attracted to says,Ā āiām non-binary,ā you donāt actually have to redefine your entire identity, you can just drink a cup of sleepytime tea and go right on being gay and into non-binary people.Ā
My current plan to recover from my mental and emotional existence is to just go so deep into being insane that I'll come out sane on the other side. Being a chronic people pleaser plagued with impostor syndrome stretched me too thin, and that leash simply snapped and I am now a completely untethered, unapologetic vermin.
Fuck having impostor syndrome, if I'm not entitled to be here they should've barred the doors better. If I'm doing everything wrong because of imaginary rules that nobody told me about, that's their problem, you should have made your confusing system more idiot-proof.
I'm not here to please everyone and do everything right. I'm here to make bad art, chew on furniture, make people laugh, cook awful food and look at pretty landscapes, and piss off the people who don't want me to exist. If I have an unseen infinite debt somewhere that I can never pay back, I'm going to keep running that tab until I die. I'm alive purely because the universe is shit at pest control.
i never thought "i'm alive purely bc the universe is shit at pest control" would be my motivation of the day but damn this dude went hard
Fuck having impostor syndrome, if I'm not entitled to be here they should've barred the doors better.
Tuesday motivation unlocked!
i had a dream that eminem came out as tranfem and the only things she did was grow out her hair and get a hairless rat to sit on her shoulder 24/7. the rat was part of the transition. she still went by eminem

Interview With Jamison Green. Originally posted on Youtube, by Dr. Lindsey Doe.
TRANSCRIPT: [Jamison Green sitting on a couch, being interviewed by Dr. Doe. He is wearing a suit shirt and a black jacket, and has a grey beard.] JAMISON: When I first transitioned, I thought I was going to go get a sex change, then go home and mow my lawn. I did not ever imagine that my life would change at all, because already people- at least half the time, sometimes more- thought I was male. And so, I figured nothing was going to change, I would just feel more comfortable in my body. I realised that there were all these other people out there who were living in fear and shame, because of their differences. And I thought, that is not right. And so I said to them, Iām going to start using my full name in public, and Iām going to start talking about who we are. Donāt be afraid to change in all kinds of ways. Your self can change. [Jamison and the interviewer high-five.] INTERVIEWER: Iām impressed by what youāve done. JAMISON: Thank you. END TRANSCRIPT.
Jamison Green was born in 1948. He came out as a trans man the late 1980s and made his transition public, for the benefit of others. He has been an activist since then, and led the FTM community after Lou Sullivan's death.
His contributions to trans rights have been largely erased by mainstream narratives around trans history.
Mr. Green wrote the book Becoming a Visible Man, exploring his experiences as a bisexual trans guy, his relationships with lovers and family, and his struggle to transition. He was involved in the 2012 documentary TRANS, where he advocated on behalf of trans people, and discussed his experiences with being s*xually assaulted.

As someone recently diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, one thing thatās been helping me grapple with the intense shame I have over all my āwasted potentialā is accepting that potential doesnāt exist and never did.
This sounds so harsh, but please bare with me.
I procrastinated a lot growing up. I still procrastinate today, but less so. And yet, I got good grades. I could write an A+ paper that āknocked [my professor]ās socks offā in the hour before class and print it with sweat running down my face.
I was so used to hearing from teachers and family that if I just didnāt procrastinate and worked all the time, I could do anything! I had all this potential I wasnāt living up to!
And thatās true, as far as it goes, but thatās like saying if Usain Bolt just kept going he could be the fastest marathon runner in the world. Why does he stop at the end of the race??
If ANYONE could make their top speed/most productive setting the one they used all the time, anyone could do anything. But you canāt. Your top speed is not a speed youāre able to sustain.
Now, Iāve found that I do need to work on not procrastinating. Not because the product is better, even, but because itās better for my mental health and physical health to not have a full, sweating, panicked breakdown over every task even if the task itself turns out excellently. Itās a shitty way to live! You feel bad ALL the time! And I donāt deserve to live like that anymore.
So all of this to say, Iām not wasting a ton of potential. I donāt have an ocean of productivity and accomplishments inside of me that I could easily, effortlessly access if I just sat down 8 hours a day and worked. Thereās no fucking way. Thatās not real. Itās an illusion. Itās fine not to live up to an illusion.
And if you have ADHD, I mean this from the bottom of my heart: you do not have limitless potential confounded by your laziness. You have the good potential of a good person, and you can access it with practice and work, but do not accept the story that you are choosing not to be all that you are or can be. You are just a human person.
No, you're not wrong.
You're not wrong for wanting a better life for yourself.
You're not wrong for believing that you are deserving of better.
You're not wrong for making those necessary changes in your life.
You're not wrong for changing the way you show up to life.
You're not wrong for distancing yourself from those things that harm you.
You're not wrong.
