I have written you down, you will live forever

At some point when Heckyl was still evil and in charge of Sledge's ship there was an earthquake in Amber Beach. Nothing too destructive in magnitude but the tremors were still felt all around the city and including in McAdden forest.

It happened when he was in the cockpit. He was mulling over plans when the shaking started. The tremors weren't violent but because of the state the ship was in, it was all more prone to falling apart.

As metal crashed off the walls and stuff clattered to the floor, Heckyl found himself unable to move. He wanted to, he knew he should but he was frozen. The hairs on his neck were standing up, his heart was beating his chest and if it wasn't for the shaking from the earthquakes, anyone could tell he was visibly trembling. Something about it all was familiar, like he had lived through an event like this before.

Heckyl couldn't think of anything, yet it terrified him. There was a feeling tugging in the back of his mind; he's been here before. Walls collapsed and everything he knew decimated in an instant, all whilst he stood powerless as the world fell apart around.

His world. His world fell apart.

His world? But he didn't have a 'world'... right-

The tremors ceased and when it was clear it was over, Heckyl got himself together, disregarding his moment of weakness and carried on with his day.

Whilst short lived, Heckyl genuinely enjoyed working at the Dino Bite cafe. It was a much needed break from having to deal with the disorder and stress on Sledge's ship, plus it was a fun side quest to him. Of course he was there to gain information about the rangers, but he was actually hired to do work and it's not like he needed the money, though who knows how he received his paycheck, so to Heckyl, it just felt like a game where he got to role play as waitstaff for a few hours.

It did help that he was particularly good at being a waiter, aside from the occasional moments when he would steal ice-cream from children, even though he hasn't had prior experience - well he probably would have but this is before he got his memories about Sentai 6 back; he could have had a front-of-house position part time just cause he's a young adult and he needed money, y'know.

Wait actually that would mean capitalism existed on Sentai 6 - maybe not then I don't know, I haven't thought too deeply about the logistics Sentai 6 world building (but I've been meaning to for ages); I'm getting sidetracked.

ANYWAY he worked the 9-5 like any other worker/ranger at the museum which would lead to some hilarious interactions with the monsters.

He would leave the ship dressed in his Dino Bite uniform for the day, though would sometimes forget he was wearing it so when he got back and had to inevitably scold Wrench/Fury/a monster for whatever reason, no one could take him seriously in his silly apron, ill-fitted over his fancy attire and stupid name tag with a dinosaur. Though no one would dare to laugh or comment.

Another time, Heckyl was late for his shift, he overslept, and was hurriedly rushing out the ship. He was about to leave until Wrench started asking questions about the latest plan and blah, blah, blah. An already stressed Heckyl snapped and said, "Not now, we're already two staff members down and there's a school field trip visiting today; they're going to kill me!" before legging it out of there, leaving Wrench dumbfounded.

He was so committed to the bit and took his "job" so seriously that Snide was actually concerned at one point because it felt like he stopped caring about the Energems altogether and just got a kick out of LARPing being a waiter. Heckyl would brush it off, assuring he was "method acting" (partially correct).

I don't think I ever posted this. I made this last year for Dino Charge's 10th anniversary but it's still relevant considering it's Dino Super Charge's 10th anniversary now.

You know a show is good when the finale leaves you pacing around your room and then motivates you to write fic because your heart can't take it.
