Drifter sees their other sometimes, during easy times, more often during hard times.
But this, here, in 1999, is the first time it's REALLY bad.
This is it, They realize, this is the first time the Operator had decided the Orokin... That Ballas, needed to die, and the first time they'd forget, or was it a memory of it, or the reality of it?
Still, they picked up their crying, huddled mass of other self... Arthur... Aoi... Amir...who had it been... Who would it be...
Who was... Who is... Who will be the first safe place, safe person the Operator would... Did wake up as after years asleep, years, decades... Centuries, years forgetting they were even a person at all.
There would be comfort found with that one, the beginning of the first one.
The memory of an old rebirth.
It seems to be working, until something triggers The Operator and they enter Transference and their entire soul just, kind of, settles in against their first Warframe's soul, no sound, no control, just a presence... And Drifter has no choice but to call Lotus... For help. Because they're fucked if the Operator suddenly, chooses not to wake up again, but this time... In another person's existence.
Meanwhile depending on the Protoframe, there's probably varying levels of WTF?
