🔈 Here’s a quick little breakdown video of my animated crow. Created mostly in Cinema 4D, I also used After Effects for grading and comping, with some final frame-by-frame paint-overs in Procreate to fill in those feathers. I’ve been really obsessed with the song Helvegen by Wardruna, which I think was one of the big inspirations for making a moody crow. 🔈 Another one from even deeper in the archives. This one I made over 6 or 7 years ago. If I remember correctly, I made this in my free time between my internship at @mainframe.co.uk. I was trying to create new work so I could make myself a showreel (I hated everything I’d made up to that point and didn’t really have enough work to fill a reel anyway). So I think this was just the outcome of needing to create something and wanting to experiment further with my 3D and “directing” (in hard air quotes). I guess I was going for that retro/mid-century modern kind of look.
