Even though it has already pasted, during Hurricane Harvey we had alot of guests stay with us at our apartment to get away from the storm. Friends and family came from Rockport and Corpus to avoid Harvey and had tried to get a hotel to wait it out but everything was full from people just trying to get away from the coast. Housing them was a no brainer, but we had 4 families living under 1 roof for weeks! The families staying with us were in no way rich and even if they were we would in no way ask for money so they could stay with us. Even tho we ourselves aren’t that well off either we took out 2 loans to buy food and supplies to accommodate our guests, and since then we have been struggling financially. Even though we all work full time we havent been able to catch up on our rent or utilities (even our cable is set to disconnect this week but that is no priority) and last week we we’re served an eviction notice. We recieved one last month as well but paid it late by 1 week and had to pay $120 in late fees. This month we are still struggling and are behind on everything! Each pay periods money we get is used to pay off the bills for the last month, all the while we are racking up late fees for this month making it harder! We have already been pinching pennies and have been couponing for 2 months and it really has helped but we don’t have rent still for this month and really don’t want to explain to our kids why we have to leave our apartment. Any help is much appreciated and anything we recieve will be paid forward just as soon as we get back on our feet! thank you and god bless everyone still struggling like our family.
