An Afternoon in Edinburgh ☕️🍂
The day had begun quite gloomy, hence the sudden urge for an afternoon coffee at a muggle coffee shop. They chose a quiet spot by the corner, near the large windows offering a view of the nearly empty street below.
The coffee shop itself was sparse. Not in a desolate manner, but more like it was taking a breath in between its crowded hours. They weren't going to stay long; just a coffee, some reading, and then a walk and apparate back home.
But Draco had long put his book away.
Now, the sun was on its steady path down west, turning molten gold and then shimmering orange. And Draco was lost in tracing the rays on her curls, on her lowered lashes, on her nibbled lip.
Draco knew what the book was about. But that was not his intentions.
"You know what's it about, Draco. You gave it to me."
"I just know the summary. What else?"
"Are you not going to read it anyway?"
"Perhaps. But I want to know your thoughts."
A sigh. Then her eyes were on him, twinkling mirthfully in the sun, and Draco felt stupidly happy.
"You just want to irritate me."
"I would never," he smiled. "Go on. What do you think?"
Hermione narrowed her eyes, sighed playfully, then proceeded to voice her thoughts, being careful to avoid spoilers because "I know you will read it".
And Draco listened, leaning in closer, basking in the warmth of her attention, while the world at large blurred around them in a golden haze.
