Scout Draws

It’s Art Fight season baby! I’ll be going through my list of OCs and giving them fresh coats of paint and updated ref sheets since my style/designs have changed so much since I last drew a lot of them.

(Translation: I think the way you draw is really awesome and wanted to ask if you had a tip or two to share for someone trying to get better at drawing people? If not that's fine I just wanted to pop in and say you're cool :D)

(Also I don't think "squishy" is the right word but it's 2am and my mental dictionary isn't working right now bleh)

Yeah I could give some art tips!

There’s so many things I could talk about for drawing people, design, expressions, anatomy, but I think to keep the post not too ramble-y I’ll talk about posing! Posing is something I used to struggle with but really enjoy now :D

Here’s how I posed out and drew my quetzal Grian as an example!

I use Tinderbox! It’s a default brush in Procreate’s inks section :D

Question for fellow artists, do you ever have to reference your own art to keep your style consistent?

Just how I draw him! I used to draw Skizz’s halo with a gap in it just as a stylistic choice, and it just kinda morphed into an actual crack overtime. Plus for my giggs phasmo sketches I would draw his halo as a bandana :D

I used this template! I had to do some editing to get the format I wanted since the default didn’t give as much room for the character. The file was initially too large to open in Procreate so I had to open it in PS, flatten a few things, then move it back over, just in case anyone else has a super old iPad too XD

In case you don’t have PS or can’t open it in Procreate, here’s my edited version, just use the fonts Orbitron and Rajdhani to fill out the rest and don’t forget to add a computer screen overlay on top :D

I’ve gotten a lot of asks about Joel and Lizzie in the Dispatch AU, so here’s what they’re up to! Both are SDN pro heroes who work in the field together as a dynamic duo power couple :D

I based Joel’s powers off his greek god s2 empires skin! He has the ability to shazam himself into a demi-god at will which gives him super strength and flight. He can’t hold his superpowered form for long though and needs to rest in his civilian form every few hours.

Lizzie has the ability to grow and shrink herself (kinda like ant-man)! She’s able to use her powers without limits, but she has to be very mindful not to cause collateral damage when she’s big or hurt herself by going too small. 100% based off that one wild life episode XD

We got the rest of the team assembled!

Jimmy Solidarity is the Water Boy of this universe and you CANNOT convince me otherwise XD
