I think they 100% start off thinking its just a casual fling with weird roleplay elements but then tenna starts to kinda get a huge soft spot for king but assumes that king would obv never like him like that so tries not to think about it cause he cant handle the disappointment of letting himself read too much into it again. he just tries to put it out of his mind and so doesnt notice the shift

and then king like suddenly drops like a startlingly passionate line at him and hes like hooollyyy shitt what the fuck ? / srs?? and its so shocking that the first time hes just stood there like blank faced. like holy shit. okay

like I think king would find him a little irritating at first if not a bit entertaining but soon realises its changed to total endearment its like [king internal mental dialogue->] youre still annoying but god if I dont feel the sudden urge to rebuild my kingdom from scratch just so that a darkner filled with such conflicting loneliness and hope like you can finally have a space to feel free of needing the lightners approval to feel worthy of existing.. what can the lightners give you that i cant.. id make sure you never felt obsolete ever again id make sure you wanted for nothing. .......... wait fuckkkkkkk guess I have feelings for bozo now great. great. whatever. this was just supposed to be a weird hookup thing fuck me

king probably sometimes getting irritatingly possessive over him in a way that tenna unfortunately loves and like constantly "sticking up for him" in his goofy bad guy way. like turning to the lightners whenrver they come to pick him up and being like youd better fucking LOOK AFTER HIM THIS TIME!!!!!! and tennas like king susie is a good kid you dont need to say that every time its fine also im a grown ass man and susie is like yeah hes a grown ass man.....?

Just absolutely embarrassing stuff. love it. maybe they arent so great for each other in long term but like the way that their totally opposing views would either clash or mesh... much to think about !

how would they reconcile their differences towards how they see the lightners... how would tenna feel when he found out the reason king is so jaded is because he too was "broken" in the lightworld and made obsolete... how would they come to terms together with the fact that actually yeah susie IS a good kid and the lightners arent all bad and tenna is (and also lancer is) right to still completely trust her, king just lashed out at her in a way she finds hard to forgive for something she didnt even do, but Also the fact that tenna deserves to still feel like a person even when the lightners arent watching him

what would they do when they finally do find understanding and reassurance in each other and then remember that tenna kinda still does have to move on to feel fulfilled.... what happens when tenna leaves.... what happens when king is the one who has to admit that he just wants tenna to stay with him, be part of his kingdom with him, be his, just stay and he could give him everything, and tenna is the one that realises now *he* is the one walking away.. would he be mortified? would he start to doubt leaving or would he try to make believe that it never Actually meant anything cause why would king ever Actually want him. would he just hope that someday theyd meet again like they already did once before...? how do they reconcile with any of this....

i didnt put much effort into this but i think its real and my concept needs to be shared.... I think its imperative in kingtenna that tenna and king act like king is the big strong one and tenna is his adorable little lapdog completely ignoring the fact that tenna is 5x his strength and size. he likes to feel cute and cared for and to get held and king likes to feel strong so it works out perfectly for the both of them
