Okay so uhhh while looking through your art again I got a little curious,where did you learn to draw?🙈

I learned mostly by myself, I loved to draw since I was a kid, I drew on so many paper sheets, but also digitally. Then I learned from some artists from some art sites, a bit from an art teacher as well from high-school, and still continued.

I got to say that I noticed other folks learned to render way faster than me, but what's important is to take your time, learn at your rhythm, experiment and have fun. :3 I occasionally challenge myself with stuff, such as learning to render clouds and other environmental details, and whenever I see I evolved in that since last time it brings me lots of joy. :3

Oh, and another factor was that my folks let me draw in peace, as in they didn't pressure me on that. On the other hand I was told to not go to an art school because unfortunately not much is being taught there (for passing the baccalaureate, at least), and then the struggle for artists of how to get money afterwards. Unfortunately in Romania and definitely in other countries as well people aren't taught to appreciate art and pay the artists, so many want art for free or just don't take account of how much effort is put in art. And avoiding art school was acceptable by me because I realised I'd get in burnout from drawing so many things the teachers and professors demand (aka static nature, anatomy and other things). I understand you need to learn the principles of anatomy, shading and so on, but can't we combine these with stuff that we enjoy?

I ended up writing a wall of text, but yeah, I hope you got some understanding. XDDDD

Oh, and bonus thing, I found out about a Romanian artist named Lucian Prună who does lots of static nature oil paintings, but he gives the nostalgic Romanian twist by painting things common to the Romanian folks from stuff like inherited furnishing from Communist regime to up to the things from the 2000's and 2010's. Here's an example:

Making a vase out of a plastic bottle of juice from a local brand to put flowers from the neighbourhood and also having around capsules from chocolate surprise eggs (like from the Kinder brand, these capsules are used to store toy pieces and instructions for the set and building the toy). This is a good example of having fun with practicing art stuff, he's enjoying doing these Romanian nostalgic things, and lost of folks love it.

Some folks drew him as a leafy sea dragon. Unfortunately I don't have an example right now.

Then this artist chunei_nei did two mermaid variants for a Genshin Mermay collab on Instagram. First one is based on a parrot fish:

He looks so damn adorable, plus his chubbiness, I'm like aaaaaagh! 😭💖 I only found this one last night. + Eel mermaid Cyno, so darn cute! (This post has a thread of drawings, btw)

But what I wanted to highlight is that I love how creative people can get with whatever Tighnari may get + skin and body type headcanons.

Me? Iiiii..... honestly I only did a version that is not even a full body portrait, but if it came up to me I may end up making him based by so many species or might invent some as well. I settled up with a skin color headcanon, but for his body shape I was at first focused on leaning towards buff femboy (or somewhere that shows somewhat feminine body, but with some visible musculature, like as a ranger he should have plenty of physical exercise + being an archer), but at some point I also got familiar with a chubby body shape, it became some sort of comfort form to me. I can have fun around with his shapes (with my shapeshifter Tighnari 🤭).

Note for the chubby form: people forget that there are humans with chubby or fat bodies AND with trained muscles, too. (I didn't know this in the past, but glad that I know this one in the recent years + about how many other body shapes exist around)

There are definitely other art of mermaid Nari that I may not have seen and possibly not have access to (like Twitter, ughhhh), I wish I could see more.

And yeah, my mind only got to focus on this topic not during Mermay, instead it was during the current Genshin Summer Event with this Fontaininan aquatic wildlife aquarium management ( + fish from other regions). It is funky just like that.

I discovered the blubberbeast one because for some reason I got into a blubberbeast mood thanks to the event and I imagined Tighnari changed into a blubberbeast and comforting me in his huge and adorable seal form. :'3

Sometimes the birds brought their chicks to feed them there and my heart got warmed up even more! :3

And for them I started to build up something. It takes a while. But also it's gonna end up being more artsy, so to say. XD

This was just upside down, I left it like that to let the paper and glue dry.

Yeah, I know it's a bit of a mess, but I'll clean up, it's no biggie. XD

I have planned to make a wire skeleton, then use aluminium foil, then papier mache (using paper bags I got from shopping), then after sculpting and giving more weight and stability I'll use foam clay. Then paint and varnish. I want to make sure the birds can sit on without flipping the thing around + the wind won't blow this away (I'm talking about strong winds from storms)

This idea came in 2023 while I was feeling nostalgic and listened to some Romanian music from late 2000's-early 2010's (the Romanian popcorn genre), but especially Samba by Andreea Bănică. Though back then I only did a sketch.

These weeks I went on making the whole picture, and here you have it. :3

Plus it was a nice exercise to draw a plus size type of body. Would this be considered chubby? Fat? In any case, she's still very beautiful. :3

And I hope this will bring some coolness to you all because I'm so tired of the heat, same for many of my friends. Ugh.....

I have mentioned in the past that Jade Harley from Homestuck has similarities to Tighnari from Genshin. And that they'll bond over botany a lot.

But also I feel that he'd help her out with processing her traumas and give her company. And teach her lots of stuff. And he'd listen to her stories and her other interests. Like...

Tighnari forgot about his childhood dreams because of the Akasha System during the time the Akademya was trying to make a new god. Meanwhile, Jade Harley as a kid had such vivid dreams of Prospit and she interacted with the prospitians a lot. And then she dreamed about the weird dream bubbles stuff. He'd definitely be curious about her dreams and adventures.

And they'll do artsy stuff together.

And Jade can help Tighnari out with maintenance of Karkata with her knowledge about machinery and engineering.

And also connect to each other for being part animals and Jade getting more comfortable with her animal self with the help of someone who was born part human, part fox.

And...

I guess I wanna spread Jade x Tighnari propaganda.

Funny thing, I headcanoned Tighnari as being in his late 20's - early 30's, and considering Jade's birth date, she's like close age. 🤣

Hello, so I have prepared this picture that I started during the Fontaine update (2023), but I forgot to finish it. Back then I drew most of the background, but now I managed to draw the fox man himself. :3 Funnily enough I finished this during the end of this May, fitting for Mermay.

Whenever I was swimming in the Fontaine waters with Tighnari I imagined him as a mermaid, and I enjoyed to use him a lot to swim around. So yeah, I hope you enjoy it. :3

First one is about my webcomic "A Journey of Foxgloves". I accidentally fell in a hiatus time, so I don't know when I'll continue, but I'll make sure to go back into it. In the recent years I've been working on lore of Theialocriss and I even started to make a website to host on it. Currently it's barebones, I'm just working on on the functionality of the site first, then I'll add the world lore to it. I took a break because I was struggling with how to make functional custom buttons. ^v^; (for the record, I only did very basic html in highschool and before, and these recent years I'm trying to learn via some online courses) But with some help I managed to do the stuff. Another problem I just hit is how to make functional custom cursors. XDDDDD But eh, one at a time. I'll add assets drawn by me over the course of time, so far the banners, the buttons, the cursors and a page title were done by me. While I build the site I might be able to develop the lore of the world of Theialocriss. Like seriously, I have a lot. And yet there's so much more to add. AAAGH! Sooooo I started to develop the world of muscigobs as well, whoops. But their world needs still a name, alongside other things. There's not much I can say about this project yet, since it barely just started.

I just got tagged in two posts of two different users pretending to be Tumblr staff who try to convince you that you got some sort of "shadow ban" until you get verified. These really sound so fake to me.

From the way they phrase it they want your personal information, so it's highly possible they want to commit identity theft and other shit.

Block them, report them, spread awareness, and take care.

How it feels for Tighnari when he hears about the essential oils scams from all around:

Like for fucking real, he'll get so pissed off by all these people and companies (like doTerra) for selling essential oils claiming that they will cure cancer and other major health issues.

He'll be like someone with expertise who will spread awareness about the ACTUAL effects of essential oils and their real uses (which depends on the plant source for the extract and the methodology of extraction), and debunk all these claims such as "curing cancer", and bring down all these companies with these awareness campaigns. This goes the same for alternative remedies.

I have had these toughts for several years since I heard a bit around me about people who try to sell essential oils and supplements, but only now I got to share them here as these scams resurfaced and I got to see a few videos about the essential oils scams, at least in Romania. But these definitely happen in other countries, too.

And I believe Tighnari would be so fucking disgusted by these scams (just like me), like they are putting impersonable people in life threatening situations by convincing them that essential oils are panacea, stripping them out of money and making them stop going to actual doctors to diagnose and treat them for diseases they might not know they have.

I wish I have found a gif of Tighnari facepalming without Cyno because, in this case, Cyno's puns are the smallest problem. Besides, Cyno would be in serious mode. But alas, Tumblr didn't cooperate with me.

Also Tighnari would prepare essential oils himself and give them to people with no issues, for body care and relaxation. And actual meds for mild health issues. And if it's too much even for him, he'd help out patients get to the doctors from Sumeru City.

It's basically this: what games would the Homestuck characters be more likely to play? But I won't make it about the usual video games, more like I'm going into some sort of niche.

I'm talking about the games that were published on Big Fish Games, GameHouse, Arcade Games, Yahoo Games, the usual 60 minutes trial thingies. And yes, this includes the PopCap Games collection. And the horizontal shooter Platypus game that recently got a remaster and got published on Steam.

I know there are definitely plenty of genres and themes, but you can also go more specific with titles and what not. :3 And mention the publisher as well for easier research.

I'm giving a small example for better understanding, Jade looks like she'd be into those Turtle Odyssey platform games series (cause I did get to play those as a kid), but she wouldn't play just these titles.
