Yes, in fact a lot of soviet artists actually depicted women as people instead of sex objects.

Which is why soviet posters are appreciated:

As opposed to propaganda posters of France during the same period:

I'll translate it for you: "Giving birth creates joy", "A woman makes her home shine" "It's the end the bad days, daddy is earning money in Germany!" "A couple without children is a couple that is drifting away."

Now of course both the russians and the french weren't doing this for women. They were just different versions of nationalism. But the soviets presented women as human beings, strong, intelligent and capable. And they gave women the opportunity to go to universities and become doctors. Whereas the french presented women as small and fragile domestic servants and incubators who had no other purpose than to serve a husband.
