Whelp. . .
Not gonna lie, the last few weeks on tumblr have been absolutely gosh darn hilarious. Especially the memes, they’ve been spectacular. So far I’ve happily taken the role of the person in the back who just watches it all burn. Partly because drama is fun to watch but no fun to participate in, but mostly because Tumblr picked the worst time to implode in on itself. It’s the holidays folks and I’ve been BUSY.
And, well, it’s given me pause to think about things, but not enough time to DO anything about my thoughts. I’ve been using this platform as a crutch, doing the bare minimum to get myself and my art out in the world. I post, get a few spare likes, and then retreat for a month or two before I post again, rinse and repeat. My social media imprint is so tiny you’d need a microscope to find it, and I’m making no improvements by staying on a platform poised to lose most of it’s userbase overnight.
I’m not closing my Tumblr, nor is it in danger of being taken down (I think), but I will not be posting here anymore. There’s no point. I would love to give links to better places to find me, with plenty of art waiting for you when you get there, but again, NICE TIMING TUMBLR, and this is all I’ve got:
Deviantart: MintKitty (My first art platform, where all my very old, cringy artwork lives and my “newest” post is over five years old. I’ll be getting Core membership in January, which will come with a name change and completely redoing my gallery, so enjoy the place in all it’s weeb glory while you can)
Instagram: merryminty (My brand new baby. I’m still getting the hang of the place, and have made all of two posts so far testing the system, but again, come January it will be much more active!)
Thank you to the small crowd of Tumblr that actually liked my stuff; it made me happy every time I saw someone interacting with my art! See you soon!!
