Punch-Drunk Love (2002) my favorite adam sandler performance! and the score is sooo dreamy 😍

Chicago (2002) PERHAPPSSS the best movie musical Ever? you may disagree but you have to give a counterpoint. Anyway. Good music and really good matching visuals! I find that a lot of movie musicals from the 2020s don't even come close to this.

20. a film to feel bad/depressed

Mysterious Skin (2004) this is such a fucking bummerrrrr 😭😭😭 i'm not gonna say much because i think it's best if you go into this blindly so you can go through the emotional journey with the main character. DO talk to me abt this if youve watched!

Manila in the Claws of Light (1975) shows the plight of the filipino working class in the 70s (which, unforch, is still true today) bummer all around. the city is also a character!!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) if you're into absurd comedy, although if i were to describe this i'd call it if instead of shitposting online you made a film. this is it.

7 Days in Hell (2015) look. this is probably not everyone's cup of tea. but it is mine and it made me laugh so hard many times

The Nice Guys (2016) SO funny. ryan gosling is in it

Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) one of my favorite horror comedies. love letter to gen z culture in my opinion. there's a thing where movies get gen z absolutely wrong. this is not one of them. me and my friends quote it all the time!

Becky and Badette (2023) this is one of those films where it exemplifies filipino comedy at its best. referential (it even references Triangle of Sadness, which came out a year before!! thats how quick #we are with our humor), self-deprecating at times, but most of all heartfelt. sooo good! i'm recommending this because i'm also curious how this can be received by a foreign audience. when we watched it in the theatre we were ijboling as fawk!!!!

10. a film where the vibes are immaculate OOOOH. TOUGH ONE . Rye Lane (2023) for sure ! really underrated romcom imho as it was talked a lot about in filmtwt when it came out but not much outside of that. and i love a film where the characters go on a walk during their date. the city is a character yada yada

2. an indie film The Farewell (2019) is so good. i felt it deeply. and it's the only time i've ever liked an awkwafina performance so it's nice to get surprised every now and then!!

8. a film released after 2010 Begin Again (2013) !! i loooooove the ending! and i love the soundtrack :D
