Darren opened his eyes. Andre’s smile was wicked; Steffi’s was worse.

I have a bunch of meds that I take before bed, and I hate taking them. So I have a jelly baby after each 2 or 3 - after all, like Mary Poppins says, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.

Except I take my meds right inside the kitchen door way, they're all lined up on a bookshelf, with the bag of jelly babies right there. The problem is every time I go into the kitchen, I end up grabbing a couple of jelly babies.

Li suggested decanting them into an empty bottle of multivitamins and it just sits there with the meds.

But I think there’s another side to that, too. Her songs aren’t just telling women that they don’t have to put up with shitty behaviour from men; they’re telling men that they don’t get a free pass for causing it. That their actions have consequences. That “I’m a man, what do you expect?” isn’t an excuse. That women are not obligated to absorb the fallout from their behaviour just because society has historically told them that they should.
