January 29th, 2026 | Balancing work on my thesis and seminar prep 📜
trying not to drown. trying to study for my cultural studies exam that is next week. trying to stay on top of my work. resubmitted my application for politics as my second teaching subject, now we wait. still have to write an essay, do stuff for my writing class, and a bunch of tasks for my didactics class. got hooked on the pitt. hoping for my brain to get kinder again.
Last night's late inspiration. Started writing an article and hopefully I'll make the deadline to submit a first draft for a workshop

I cannot emphasize enough how fucked I am. I have been procrastinating everything. And now I have a paper that I haven’t started due this evening, two papers I haven’t started due tomorrow, and one paper (that I actually have started) due on Friday. And I have a cold AGAIN because my roommate is incapable of coughing into her elbow. Oh and also I am literally failing my French class currently with a 37%.
I’m ordering a pizza and then I guess I won’t sleep tonight! please wish me luck or pray to your gods on my behalf, I could really use it.
Heading into the final stretch… it’s been a tough semester but I learned a lot and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

My laptop is being repaired. I'm working on a backup which is a small decade old, it's noticeable in every way imaginable. I'm just happy I've got it up and running to be honest. A little terrified for the upcoming semester, I already don't have time and that will only diminish. Nonetheless, we endure.

I did some thesis-related studying today, but mostly I've spent this weekend working on a presentation for the catalysis seminar. It's yet another presentation where I get to talk about things from within my area of interest: lanthanide chemistry and spectroscopy, just in relation to catalysis. I'm afraid there'll be no shutting me up once I get out there and start yapping. They'll have to take the laser pointer from me by force

today was pretty normal for a class day! I had almost 4 hours worth of classes today, so I wasn't able to get as many long study sessions done. I was able to cross a couple of things off of my to do list, which is always a good feeling! Also, look at that gorgeous sunset!!
