First of all, on Istvaan V, after Fulgrim snaps out of his haze after he kills Ferrus. He realises what he had done all this time. He was tricked into becoming tool of Ruinious Powers and horrible realisation of all he had wrought hit him like a brick:

Fulgrim did done it fucked up™. At this point maybe there would have been way back. But he had fully gave in to Laeran daemon trying to give up because pain and anguish was too much, thus taking last cataclysmic action into dooming himself:

So now his mind was pushed into darkest corner of his soul and daemon of Slaanesh already started to break his mortal form in order to prepare it for ascencion. (again this is hinted in daemonvs exchange with Horus and in last parts of 'Fulgrim') Why? Because Primarchs had quite power to be extracted and used for the ritual. So I think I can say Laeran daemon's goal was always Fulgrim's body (it is also hinted in Reflection Crack'd, but I was too lazy to find exact paragraph)

Once Lucius becomes aware of the truth and he calls others, it is revealed by Fabius had discovered that Laeran daemon had been actively changing and wrecking Fulgrim's body for his own needs.

So in other words, Fulgrim's body has been dissolving and shattering at rapid rate. He is dying. And this was Daemon's plan all along. But at some point (I personally feel that before Prismatica) Fulgrim gets his body back and yet he already somehow managed to screw himself over on subatomic level.

So. At this point the only thing Fulgrim can do is just to accept the course of action. Accept what Laeran Daemon had planned and use it for himself. To fully ascend as daemon. And this is incredibly sad to me, because daemonhood was never Fulgrim's plan. If anything he would never tarnish his body this way (and maybe he grows to like it idk, I am yet to finish Reflection Crack'd and later Angel Exterminatus), but again the main sentiment here is that he has no other choice than to hijack the situation for himself and be the one to go this path. And considering Fulgrim realises he already screwed himself and his legion up with no way back, he... Just accepts his fate.

Still he isn't happy about it. There are noticeable sadness in him over the past. Illios story in here does serve as allegory to Fulgrim's own thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Again... I just find this incredibly sad. Fulgrim never wanted this and yet now he's on the crash course to his own doom. His body is dying and dissolving, Imperium's burning in Heresy, his sons are no longer proud warriors with whom he gladly fought and yet Fulgrim just accepts it with eery calmness. He's about to crash, so he just spreads his wings and accepts inevitable doom.

You cannot be gay, a man, and a named cannon character in the warhammer universe all at the same time.

because you can be a canon named character and gay in the warhammer universe, but you aren't a man as there are many canon lesbian characters (Commissar Severina Raine)

you can be gay and a man but you're probably not a named character and are referred to as "gay cousin of main character" or something

you can be a man and a canon named character in the warhammer universe but you're not gay and that makes up 99% of all characters in the setting as most male characters are completely straight (maybe save for the space marines who are confirmed asexual?)

I think I also know why this is happening...

think about the players of warhammer,

its mostly 20-40 year old men, right?

aannd what are toxic middle aged men attracted to?

its usually women, right?

now think about the canon gay characters in warhammer,

its usually lesbian couples, right?
