hi hi hi i go absolutely bonkers for ur art and i was wondering, do you have any tips for drawing marines? things you should always keep in mind? especially for how you draw marines in dynamic poses cuz DAMNNNN
Thank you for liking my stuff!!
It might be a bit hard to explain, but usually when I draw, I choose to create a scene in your mind (or look for references elsewhere). Example thought someone swinging a sword then pause the moment you want , choose the pose and rotate to get angle i want inside my head . I normally visualize the figure without armor first and then add the armor on top then do details Or I just grab my old drawing figurine make some pose. the most important part is guiding the viewer's eye something needs to stand out, showing every single detail in a dynamic pose isn't really necessary in my opinion. In many of my sketches, I often use hands because they're the easiest way to do this (honestly 80% of my work features a hand reaching toward the front (ᵕㆆ_ㆆ) sometime I try drawing don't look good . That's why I recommend draw thumnail sketchs ideas in your canvas/ sketchbook , then picking the best one. if the pose looks cool enough, I’ll completely ignore the how a SM can actually move their body /Evil laugh
here example 2 page of my littlethumnail sketchs
tip for draw MS I suggest breaking them down into basic shapes—squares, boxes, semi-circles, and so on. It makes it much easier to layer the details on top later
