Jaehyun makes you pose for a pic at a fancy restaurant because he said you're looking lovely tonight. Both of you have also been drinking wine throughout the date so you got tipsy. And as you're busy wiping off steak sauce at the corners of your mouth, Jaehyun does something crazy.
He kneels to the ground on one knee and asks you a cheesy "will you marry me?"
Right in front of everyone's salad... You could only shake your head in disbelief and amusement, unable to stifle a chuckle as you help him stand on his feet. Jaehyun wears that stupid lovely grin, waiting for your answer. You hear whispers from people who expressed their sympathy and shock from what have just happened.
You knit your brows together as you see him bend on one knee in front of you again. "I love you. Will you marry me?" He says. You roll your eyes and pick him up by his elbows gently, but he doesn't budge. So you finally give him an answer.
"All right. Yes. And I love you too, so get up." You say the last part in a hushed tone.
And suddenly everyone hollers in celebration, including a tipsy Jaehyun who then kisses you on your lips. You feel him smile into the kiss. You pull apart and Jaehyun's smile is still completely etched on his face.
"I can't believe you did that again!" You whisper to Jaehyun. "What, want me to do it again?" He jests, and you're certain about his conviction by the looks on his smiley face. He looks goofy and giggly. You definitely would kiss him again right now. And you do.
"I haven't asked you yet." Jaehyun beams you a stupid grin.
"You already did, you fool."
He might be foolish whenever he gets tipsy. There was even a time when it's your first time in that very restaurant, he did the same gesture—he propped on one knee and ask for your hand in marriage in front of everyone.
Yes, just so you could get a free congratulatory parfait served by the chef de cuisine. And as he's tipsy right now, he thought of pulling the act again just to see if you'd get your parfait again.
And unexpectedly as it should be, the waiter comes and serves you the exact dessert. Jaehyun then again grins. You both thank the waiter before he descends back to the kitchen.
"Are you happy now, Mrs. Jung?" He asks you with a sly smile.
Ah, your husband can be really that unpredictable at times. Nonetheless, you're smiing at him gleefully.
Yes, Jaehyun, your husband for two years already, with your second congratulatory parfait in your second anniversary.
"Here's to more on the house parfait." Jaehyun clinks his wine glass with the dessert glass with a wink, chuckling at how you're rolling your eyes at him. You'd wonder how he gets away with it every time, but that's less of your concern now because he's yet again popped you another baffling question.
