Since the Busan arc, Lookism has been predictable and boring. It's incredible how fans are able to know what will happen in the next chapter when what used to characterize Lookism was exactly that appearances can be deceiving, and it would surprise us with something different. Now fans are able to know what will happen in the next chapter because of how predictable it is: exaggerated fights, power-ups in every chapter; first they are losing and then they win, they give some encouraging speech and the friend of the moment gets emotional over it, it's so predictable. It resorts to the reader's pity to keep us hooked, giving us characters that stop being relevant by the next arc and with stories that are way too sad (justice for Jinrang ✊🏻).

Next, my favorite topic. Women, and women in Lookism. I know that since the beginning of the work there haven't been female fighters, other than a few who know how to defend themselves but don't actively participate in fights. Which is disappointing because it's a fighting manhwa, not a psychological one or a shoujo... (in fact, Lookism was once a shoujo XD). At the very least there should be some woman who gets a worthy fight, who is pushed to her limit. Although these are just wishes that will never be fulfilled, because misogynistic prejudices tell us that women don't look very good in the position that men have historically taken, as warriors, leaders, and intellectual geniuses. We don't even have a "female version of Eugene"; is there even a single woman in Lookism who is at least a strategist?

But I know that my opinion doesn't matter, because according to the blindest Lookism fans, Lookism is "peak" and perfect from start to finish. Besides, it's a manhwa aimed at a Korean male audience, two things that I am not. At the end of the day, I'm just a tourist, if i don't like it, i'm invited to leave.

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think Gun is as sex-crazed as we often make him out to be. Why do I think that? It mainly comes down to UI.

UI doesn't just amplify his fighting instincts, it feeds into his emotions, pushing him to fight like a complete maniac. But notice what happens when he loses emotional control after seeing someone close to him die. His UI ruptures, which is what leads to TUI. To me, that suggests Gun is someone who never learned healthy emotional regulation and has a deeply distorted understanding of love, which he does have 🥀

Of course, sex can exist without love. That's not the point I'm making. What I mean is that if Gun were ever in a genuinely healthy relationship, I think he'd be far more focused on building and nurturing that relationship than trying to have sex 24/7. You know that sense of calm and comfort you feel when you're with your favourite person? The way your nerves just settle? I can see Gun craving that far more than people give him credit for.

Part of me also believes that, just like his warped perception of strength and love, his views on sex are probably built on a very unstable foundation. Again, this is just a headcanon based on my own observations.

I simply don't see him as someone with an overwhelmingly high sex drive, unlike Kitae.

So, my point is if and it's a big if Gun were ever to end up in a healthy relationship, I'm not saying sex would be absent. It just wouldn't be the focal point of that relationship.
