20190216 HAON LE Magazine Interview [extract]
Q: When you talk to your fellow contestants from âHigh School Rapper 2ⲠLee Byungjae and Lee Rohan, do you have common topics?
H: The funny thing is weâre all working tirelessly nowadays. We talk about how weâre exhausted to death. Lee Rohan usually doesnât mention it as much but me and Byungjae always say things like âah, Iâm so tiredâ.Â
One day, Lee Rohan texted our group chat after drinking and said âByungjae-ah, Haon-ah...if you guys are tired then I might as well be dead...â At that moment, I thought âah, so everyone is going through hard times right nowâ. But in a way itâs a source of strength and thereâs the feeling that âIâm not alone after allâ and âeveryone is growing upâ.Â
Q: In the past year, all of the people youâve met must have changed to some extent, right? Before, your days were spent mainly with your schoolmates or family, but now you probably meet up more with people for work, is that right?
H: After I dropped out of school, I didnât meet up with anyone. At the time, my dad wasnât home very often and my mom had to work during the day so I would only see her at night. The only one by my side was my puppy. Those were very quiet and calm days.Â
But after participating in âHigh School Rapper 2â˛, I met a lot of new friends like Webster B and VINXEN. After the show ended, I mainly hung out with the H1GHR MUSIC crew. Nowadays, it feels like things have gone back to the time after I dropped out, but itâs not as idle as it was before.Â
The reason I havenât been able to meet up with people is my own fault. I should have taken the initiative to go out and meet the hyungs or the other guys from the company. Iâve just been too lazy...
